Peugeot 307 , 2002/2003 Model

Dear Experts,

Please help me to verify the following matter.

I hope to change my wife's car to Peugeot 307 (2002/2003) which has got a tiptronic gear box. Most of my friends say that there is a inherent problem in tiptronic gear box.

Please educate me the type of the problem and the approximate cost to repair it if the story is true.

my advice- better stay away from those cars which came initially with the AL4 tiptronic box. very bad throttle response, had issues with the throttle body as well. and problems with the gearbox. the early cars had many failures. fuel consumption is also atrocious. there was no proper solution even with software updates.

try to get hold of a manual one or keep around 1.1 mil ready for the gearbox change at agents. 406 face lift version and 307 both are popular for the triptronic auto adaptive gearbox failures
