1st To 2nd Shift Slow & Jerk

Hi All,

i noticed since last week... the car sometimes takes longer to shift from 1st to 2dn (normal driving conditions) and then it would shift with a jerk & thud noise......

i told the guy who maintains my car & he said the gear box might be going bad.... if that's the case... how much will it cost to replace it.. ??

What is the car model and is it manual or auto gear (i assume you have auto)

Before checking the gear box, you may want to check your clutch and pressure plates.

it;s a auto... EK3 - 2000 model... D15Z4 engine

How often have you changed the ATF, if the oil change is over due, first you can try by giving a full ATF change,

Recommend agents for that, they do a good job.

Is the oil level OK too.

I bought the car about 4 months back & the first thing i did was change the ATF, timing belt, oil seals....ets from the agents....The oil level is also ok

Show it back to the agents, show it to the Manager Mr Lal Ganegoda,

he has good sense in figuring out and advising and will not cost you arm & a leg.

Well the guy i showed the car is working @ the agent.. has been for 14 years :-)

He's name is Rohan.... good guy... didn't charge me anything to check the car..... the car was done 104000 @ the moment....when i got it, it had done 98000

Is the gear box CVT or AMT ?

If it is CVt, Used gear box will be cost around 75000 Rs. Check at US spare parts at Hill street Dehiwala.

This is a AMT... not a CVT
