2007 Honda Civic Compact Sedan

Overdrive

Recommended Posts

The Honda Civic Si sedan shown at the 2006 Chicago Auto Show was labeled a concept, but there's little doubt about its production intent. Although John Mendel, senior VP of American Honda, called the Civic Si sedan a concept he went on to say, "The 2007 model year will mark the first time in the Civic Si's 20 years [in the U.S.] that it will be available with four doors." Expect to see all of the Si coupe's hardware carry over straight to the sedan. That means a 197-horsepower, four-cylinder engine; six-speed manual transmission; limited-slip differential; and 17-inch wheels and tires.

Hi OD.. thought I'd reaply here insted <_< Thats one thread I dont want to threadjack.

Intresting this.. Honda seem to be moving the civic around the different market segments.. My question is where does the RSX/Integra stand?

This looks like its aimed at the american market, not sure..but we never got a civic with a 2ltr engine right?

Could this be the americans version of the SIR? but then again they dont call it Honda there do they?

Yep - from what I know SI's are for the U.S market and they do market as Honda. The accura is a seperate badge aimed at the luxury/ semi lucry segment, but the civic and Accord are sold under the Honda badge. No type CTR's there so this is the closest the Yanks will get to it ;-)

60+% of Honda profits now come from US, so invariably Honda is focusing more attention to the US now, the 2006 Civic was designed and aimed at US market, so the Yanks are catching up wit the JDM Honda's, now CTR and Si both get 200 horses if my memory is correct, that is a disgrace for the CTR and JDM, imagine what might a SiR will have in store for USDM

high time RSX/tegra went Forced Aspirated, there's very little to exploit in the N/A market now both in terms of technology and market size.

---

wit fuel prices sky rocketing and the next gen NSX hinted to be hybrid, i wonder whether Honda is aiming the next gen. tegra to be Hybrid than forced aspirated

CTR is 215Bhp and the SI is 4 door. It will never handle the way a CTR does.

yah handling wise ctr must be ahead,[after all ppl call it pocket rocket]

but i am not quite sure about 215bhp thing,[215 bhp running 98 octane right?? not normal petrol]

the concept CTR that i saw in the internet/including AL was rated at 200 horses.

CTR is 215Bhp and the SI is 4 door. It will never handle the way a CTR does.

hey chang,]

i gather from this link that CTR is still 200 horses, infact itz da DC5 wit k series datz 220hp, so i assume that your 215 figure is running 98 octane

if i am not mistaken si is rated at 200(197) under nor mal running conditions.

please educate me on my confusion?
