Toyota Carina At212 Steering Rack

Hello,

there is a steering rack noise in my car. Technicians say that I better need a rack replacement, cos adjustment

won't do. No oil leaks from steering pump.

Are there places to repair worn off steering racks. How reliable they are. Any expert who does this job well?

better replace it with a recondition onece and for all mate. you will not get the headache for another decade.

I have the same problem with my Corona Premio CT210. I am expecting to replace do you guys know how much the cost will be.

I got to know that it cost about Rs. 16000 for Toyota Carina AT212 through a garage guy. But did not check the prices

with dealers.

that price is correct ...i replaced it in my 110 year ago at a cost of 17k. i think it shares the same rack with 212.

there are two type of racks comes with AE110 and AE212. Sealed type and repair type. sealed type is bit expensive. i bought AE110 not seal type (repair type) rack for 8000/= before one year from kurunegala.
