i believe most people have failed to see the objective of this thread.penalty of not reading or understanding the post perhaps?

anyways i think devinda is asking what vehicles are instantly recognised by BRAND/MODEL by the masses,it could be because of a particular vehicles distinct shape,popularity or notirity...for instance.it is true that we see bikes everywhere,but how many of the people on the street can recognize a particular bikes brand(tvs,hero honda etc) just by glancing at it...i say againd the vehicles must be recognised by brand/model...not in general.

here's my top vehicles that should be identified by most folks

1.BAJAJ threewheeler

2.LEYLAND bus

3.ROSA bus

4.Maruti 800

5.HIACE dolphin

6."intercooler" pajero

7.Prado

8.Corrolla

9.sunny "doctor"

10.VW "beetle" [/b]

11.morris minor

12.mini

13.defender

masterdon..how come vw beetle in the 10th place? IMO it should be within the first four.

Indeed, it should be the Leyland bus. Above 90% of the non AC buses in Sri Lanka are Leyland.

each and every one who has a corolla knows about the 3 Wheller. isn't it?

lets be realistic.most of the poor people in Sri Lanka doesn't know about the corollas and sunny s cos they are not interested in them at all.but they know about the bajaj 3 Wheller..

since its about the best known vehicle it cant be corolla

My vote goes for the Bajaj 3W. You possibly could find them even in the most remote parts of the country and most importantly any one could identify the brand. I would give second to a Layland bus and third to the old VW beetles.
