Any place around colombo where they do speaker installations? apart from the usual places like Pet#o and others?

Adv@nc@ car audio... but u need to be careful of the guys marketing... they will talk & if u r not careful u will end up buying the whole store ;-)

Gilb@rt & Sons is good too....

I would avoid Adv@nce... they didnt do a good job on mine, and messed up my head unit connections. Had to re-do it else where...

Yeah, same with Pet#o, for all the jazz, they did a crappy job on mine also.... prefer to DIY now. If i break, its mine to break.

DO IT YOURSELF.... the only difficult task is to build sub Enclosures. if u have spare time to spend, it wont be hard....

check out pamnkada area.... i think i saw few stereo boutiques out there and near kohuwala too

I hear that Gilbert does a good job. Underrated place, brings in some serious hardware. Went there the other day and the guy who ruins the show was a no-nonsense fellow who laid out the Pros and the Cons of what I wanted done. Impressed.

Gilbert does a good job mchn.We got our car's system done their and still no problems The Job was neat too.They dont sell the Cheap crappy speakers so they are quite expensive

I'm guessing you meant "runs" the show?

by the way guys..... do you know what the material (padding material on the back wall of the enclosure) used inside speaker enclosure is called and where i can get some ?

I got a Rs7500 quote for Blaupunkt GTx 693 speaker pair from Ad#####d car audio. Is it a reasonable price? and do they sell genuine speakers or duplicates?

got my system from them and that was about 2.5 year ago if not more...todate no issues and i'm a happy customer!

funny enough..when i wanted blau, the owner said it wasn't really good and sold me a set of alpines for the rear 6x9's...

it was twice the price of blau but i was very impressed :)

Got mine done at Bara in dehiwala. Ok place, good thing is they fix it the exact way the customer requires it. For the cons I guess they just tape the wires instead of soldiering it.

p.s - I had bought my head unit and speakers from the duty free, these guys just charged me 750/- to install it.

Agree on the good service........I fixed the speakers myself but needed some wiring done.

good neat job too.

Have had a baaaaad experience with advance, so wont sight the place again.

They took in a stereo for repairs, and after a million calls to get it back, they fixed something

totally different. :angry: ( My in laws car an they didnt want to make a major fuss...I would have given a choice )

really???

that's bad man! I of course got good service but i did use the whole AL thing to the max :) :)

So the owner would have known if he messed things up he was gonna get a pretty bad review :P

Petko has very good reviews...slightly pricier over other places as far as i've heard but they are supposed to be pretty good at what they do

my boss has had bad experience with A###ns and they broke the teak dash trying to pull it out. He's still looking for a teak dash panels. I got two jobs done from Pet#o and one on classic 504 and the other on 406, both they've done a good rather impressive and neat job. I was next to the guy who did fixing in both the jobs, fearing that he might break some dash board component or might mess up interior which will be a costly affair for me to rectify. When I was too worried he simply made this comment, "don't worry sir, you're getting this job done at Pet#o" and they kept their word at least in my experience.

they do have stuff.. ..but old models...

I bought Blaupunkt THX 693 for 5400/= about one year back from the Blaupunkt dealer at 2nd cross street. they are the dealer who import all the Blaupunkt speaker system. all are "made in china"
