Triptonic Gear

Hi Friends,

Can some one please explain me what is triptonic gear. Some one told me it is a combination of manual & auto. I mean whenever you want to use manual transmission can be used & whenever want to use auto transmission can be used. Is this correct?

It's an automatic transmission with some level of user input that allows the driver to control the shifts to a certain degree.
