seems that they have promoted this event up the racing calendar! races are scheduled to start on the 6th and 7th of March!

anybody from AL going for the races?

my uncles running this rally... his white STi 5 RA tuned by darin... :D ...first time the car is out in competition so we're pretty excited! have fun to all the guys that go for it...

well...most probably i will be doing just that! driving early and getting back right afterwards!

just praying that i dont get some last minute job to take care of at work...

superb! maybe you can drive on the way back! :)

i love the drive in early morning but getting back is a bitch!

after all the running about at the track and substantial traffic coming towards colombo doesn't really help!

most prolly my bro would join me with his 400d so you can join us!

where do you stay machang?

I'm in wattala, will be picking up my bro from kelaniya and then straight run to Sigiriya!

dunno if this is the same but last time there was a VERY boring event with suv's and the likes. A hilux too ran that event and it was such a bore!

took a few pics and they are on my FB page!

the only good thing with that event was giving my tired legs and the camera a well deserved break :P

No issues. And the 50 has a better sealed body than the 450. Just have a cleaning kit with a blower and a soft brush.

edit : Also, I wouldn't bother with the sili-sili bags. You have a 55-250 IIRC? the fact that the front end rotates might be an issue if you wrap it up.

yep..i'll be on the 55-250 for like 95% of the time if not the whole 100%

i will carry my backpack that has a few brushes, lens pens and a blower etc...

just that last time the whole setup took a heavy beating...it was covered in soft brown dust that took me like 2-3 days to fully get rid of...

still sometimes i get dust specs coming up on my lens! :(

See if you can borrow a 70-200 f4L. Its only $500 so you don't have to feel too bad about abusing it :)

that's my next target lens :)

first need some studio strobes and then it's defa that lens :)

sadly $500 is a lotta moolah for me mate :(

And its not for me? :) It'll be a couple of years before I even get to that. Right now the list is

50mm 1.4

580EXII

85mm 1.8

AP 90mm 2.8 Macro or EF 100mm 2.8 Macro

500mm f8 manual everything :)

and then the 70-200mm. Unless I feel like inserting a 17-40mm in there first.

I might be optimistic in thinking couple of years :D Oh well, lets see if London gives me a decent raise this year. :)

Its going to be a hot race between Sheran,Ishraq and Dumi##a J.Sadly Dinesh S is not running his Rav4.
