Does any one have experience with VW Passat 1.8T , YOM 2000 model ?

Wot about this particular model ? is it reliable ? any common issues with the make and model ?

Wot about maintenance ? sourcing of spare parts ?

Engine management specifications ?

Excellent car. Nice engine too.

Check the history from the Agents,they have a lot of cars which come in for upgrades .....(owner buying new model).

Fuel consumption should be reasonable at about 7 - 9kmp ( I am not sure of this).

Safe, solid, car.

machan it's a very good car and a good value for money car in sri lankan context. they say all sorts of garbage about the car. like any car, if one goes to the wrong mechanic or not maintain the car properly then it will give a typical problem. but when it happens to a non-main-stream car like passat, then people start calling it a problem with the model. that is utter garbage!!! the only question you gotta ask is, "is there parts available?" answer to that is YES for passat new parts but NOT MANY for used parts. so gotta have some little bit more cash than your normal corolla to maintain it. come to think of it, the civic aint got too many used parts for sale either. so then it may be like mantaning your civic. in case you get the car don't worry about parts and mechanic. i have a man who is specialising on non main-stream cars. get in touch with me if you finally do get hold of one, or need assistance in picking the right one.
