Vw Golf Gear Box

Hey guys...

I'm totally new to this discussion forum.so friends there was a VW Golf 1979 Mk1 for around 4lks.is it worth 4 dat price?it has a problem with the gear functioning.& i just want to know the price of the gear box of that car in roughly and the reason for vibrating the car when the head lights are on.

It Depends on the condition, Hows the Body + Interior + Engin ?

check if any engin repairs done recently? If not there might be a risk of upcoming repairs due to 30 years of usage...

Did u had a TESTDRIVE ?

Think these came with 1500cc Deisel engin..

Price of a gear box might be high since spares seems rare to find...

Vibrates when head lights on - is the vibration continues when accelarate? or vibreates only when no accelaration?

is this the VW advertise on AL?

Dont go 4 any vehicle with out a proper testdrive,

its like getting married without looking at the bride...

Vibration might due to bad enging mount... If it is mounts it wont costs much...

Best thing is to check the engin with gud diesel mechanic...

Think twice as tht gear box trouble might indicates upcoming enging troubles....

Check with CARMART.

they are the authorized dealer for VW. pretty sure they might come up with extremely higher prices if its available or can be imported.

Best thing is to just check with them and have a walk in Panchikawatta.

The vehicle seems worthy for tht price, but if u had to spent another 1 or 2 lkh for make it running smoothely...

outlander i think that the agents for VW are no longer carmart they are senok automobiles, the ownership changed if I am not wrong,but anyway check and see. Apart from that I dont think they will be interested in cars like the old beetle and golf , i have never come across any owner of the beetle or golf who said that they serviced there cars from carmart even when they were the agents, even the richest ppl

If i spend about another 1 or 2lks it'l be useless ne?what if i can buy the car about 3lks,worth ne?

Before give ur offer, get an idea about spare availability and prices.. get them confirmed..

Find a good Diesel Bass and inspect the vehicle and ask his openions..

The most important thing is to dont take much time for doing these, be hurry otherwise somebody else might grab the vehicle..

3lkh is a gud price if owner agrees, and if spares available.....

Vibration - could it be that the engine is idling too slow? Anyways pls get a test done on the engine as a rebuild would be expensive.

The gearbox sounds like it's in a mess too. I'd be cautious and get a good mech to check it over.

A good test drive is a must before you even start negotiating.

if u see a corolla2/corsa or tercel 2 door hatchback,jst make a note here.

there i a Ford cortina 1979 for 2lks & mazda familia 1994 hatch 2door for 7.25lks.
