seems like no one is there..

Got mine from Mustafa in Singapore (Made in Finland) 6 to 12 months ago.

The phone is great to use with a good calendar and scheduling function, ease of sms and decent battery life. Browsing the net is also fairly easy.

The only cons are that the key board needs getting used to with the keys being smaller than your standard phone and that the camera quality is also fairly ordinary.

I had some software issues where the phone used to get stuck often and got it reinstalled. Still the phone gets stuck once in a while when I try several functions at once. I think this can be fixed with a software upgrade but haven't had the time to get it done.

Besides that the phone if fairly solid and is good for heavy use.

Was I wrong to think that OP had the Staret EP71 in mind? :action-smiley-060:

Yes..now that you pointed it out....kicking my self for jumping the gun on that :)

We remember our company having an EP 70 series Soleil ages ago as well.

Great car as most of the Toyotas of that era but this was an era when people were used to larger (saloon) cars.

I do remember the rear door used to make a racket despite regular adjustments.

The only worry would be the availability of parts for a vehicle of this age.

I used to have an EP 76 (the 2 door version of EP 71) as my 1st car. I still regard that as one of the best cars i have driven in Sri Lanka. It was a very honost car with good driving position, good pulling power and pretty good handing on the bends.

I am thinking of finding it and buying it back if it s possible.

thanks for the comment.. according to you i am trying to find a good place to adjust the carb (Tuning). :D

Hey malinda!

I used a EP71 stock(1984) about a year back.

In my personal experience it is a good car. but unfortunately mine gave trouble too often. I got it for 6.30, spent almost 100k on a complete overhaul n sold it for 5.75....!

It was my first car to be honest, and i had not driven many cars at that time. but now i can say that the ep71 was a good car, it got me from 0-80kmph in like no time but beyond 80 the car used to wobble :P but i did 130 on it once...!lol

erm spare parts wise well i was lucky to find most of the parts for the overhaul. but generally u gotta be hunting all over till u find what u want. and thats when i started hating the car.

Please do find one with an absolutely good carb, mine sucked big time. at times i got around 6kms per lt! but a good tune up will give u over 12kms for sure.

well all in all i guess its a good car if ur willing to spend time on it.. good luck mate!

Mine was a 1989 model, i think that was one of the last set of EP 71s which was produced. the production stopped in 1989 i think (correct me if I am wrong).

It was in very good condition when I bought it. I think I was lucky to find one that good.

My mechanic used some kind of a magic spray (I dnt know wat it is called) on my carb and did a small tune up and it worked wonders for me. (May be I was lucky)

from where did you find the mechanic with magic spray.. i also wanna check this.

if its a carb and throttle body cleaner, i've tried it too. results were very temporary in my case. I heard there's this ep71 carb expert in wellampitiya.
