Hilux Single To Double Cab Conversions - What's Next??

I've seen plenty of single cab Land rovers converted to full body and double cabs, but this is the first time I'm hearing about Hilux conversions. Came across the following on another well known vehicle website...

Did you try removing your fan-belt and driving through a flood? i hear from experts that it helps cool down engines...

A leading importer filed a case against Srilanka Customs confiscating few cabs.

Informing importer cabs were under invoiced For duty purposes.

Then Importer went to court verdict was in favor of the Importer

All those cabs was returned by a court order to the importers premises few days back.

Few days back I saw very neatly done D*MO Batta as a 9 seat Passenger Van with sliding glasses.

I disagree here.

Just because countryside villagers use unconventional type of vehicles ,that’s never legitimate in Colombo and never pertinent to the topic concerned, Navaras and Smartcabs.

The case you referred about the “leading” importer and his 14 Smart& Navaras is special. They were impounded due to a different case. They went to courts pleading that vehicles be returned after paying the penalty and proper taxes without confiscating and sold in public auction. They won the plea and vehicles returned after paying heavy penalty and the applicable taxes. Hope you and I talk about the same case.

The D*MO Batta van you are talking about here could be the new 6 seater Tata Ace Magicl van model .

but to be frank i have heard some van owners removing the air intake and going through the water , which saved them a lot of hassle..
