Killer-B
Hey! I normally use the A\C mode and was not really bothered to try the "ECON" setting, until someone mentioned that it is called "ECONOMY" mode and it saves you fuel! (all this time I thought it was some environmental friendly thing ) I tried it out today and didn't really feel a difference the cooling was normal, so what really does this "ECON" mode do? Pros and cons of using this setting? Differences between "AC" and "ECON" mode?
mustu521
The Econ mode cycles the A/C compressor on and off more often than in without Econ mode. To check if your Econ mode actually works try running the A/C without Econ mode for a while and then press the Econ mode button (while the compressor is still on) and notice the compressor switches off. anjulau78
When set to ECON mode, the A/C compressor shuts off at higher temperature than the A/C mode. eg: if you set to A/C mode, the compressor shuts itself by reaching the Cooler to Celsius 9, but the ECON mode will shut the compressor by reaching the cooler at a higher temperature like Celsius 12. So less energy needed at the ECON mode than A/C mode. comments are welcome... Edited June 21, 2010 by anjulau78
aamarakoon
That's right. Even in home A/C if you choose economy, compressor will cut off at a higher temperature than the set one. Edited June 23, 2010 by aamarakoon
