Totota Ae110 - Installing Power Shutters/mirrors

Hi all,

One of my friend interested in installing power shutters & power mirrors to his AE110. Currently it's with winding shutters & non power mirrors. Do anyone having any experience on this kind of thing?? Can he install only the motors, switches & wiring stuff when it comes to shutters?? Please advice..

Would replacing all four doors with full option doors be an option for him? Then he will have power shutters and central locking and the power mirrors as well. But for the power mirrors to function, he may have to replace the dash board also. If he can afford to, that may be a better option.

for power shutters, its best that you get the door panels for the full option car, if possible. You can only install the motors and switches also. Then again it depends on the amount you are willing to spend. Further, I doubt that you will be able to get motors and switches which are made in Japan.

Best option is to buy 4 full option doors. They will come with all the wiring inside the door with motors, etc. Your car should also have the wiring harness for the doors. It would be just plug n play. Except for the relays, dash switch, etc.

Prices vary by models. It should be in the range of about 20-35k for all four doors.

I have seen people doing conversion fitting Motors winders etc, but it should be done with total care

as you need to drill inner door panel to suit PM and wiring etc etc. and also you may need to hook PM switches

somewhere into dash or door panel, that might ruin your interior look. but that is less costly

Ya they vary depending on the model and how old your car is. But looking at the complications of fitting PM kits replacing the doors is the next best option. You get everything original, motors, winders, glass, PM switches, etc, etc. Besides the overall resale value of your car would also go up slightly.
