Vehicle Import Tax Calculator, Rules & Structure

Hi All,

I'm very intrested to know how the tax calulation is made for vehicles.

I know with importing the age rule is

3.5 years for car

5 years for vans

Not defined for forestry vehicles

Tax -

142% for new cars

120% for vans

62% for forestry vehicles

• What are forestry vehicles ?
• How do you define the value of a vehicle in Sri Lanka to calculate the above percentages.
• Is it only the value purchased ? or is it the value that Sri Lankan market currently have?

What about agriculture and forestry vehicles ? What are the vicles included in this category ?

what is the age limit ? Sorry I could not find any details about that in the forum ?
