I have been noticing the prices of Jap cars and they seem to have come down quite a bit  . I live in Aus and I would like to get a car for my dad in SL. My budget is upto 1.5M max. Would prefer a Jap car but not a must and definitely want it to be reliable and a one which would be easy on the wallet. My dad/family might be doing long distance driving quite often.. I checked a couple of Noahs/CR42s. Any ideas guyz? Thanks in advance.

CR42s are still above the 2 million mark aren't they?

My dad is going to trade in his one and they offered 1.9 million for a cr41 with a pretty bad Im guessing they should sell in the mid 2 million mark.

There are couple of CR41's below 2 mil. mark which indicates future reduction of prices more. But not sure whether they reach below 1.5mil mark. But may be..

If it is a CR42, I was considering spending a bit more. I saw a couple of them in nick condition advertised for 2.2M and they have come down a little bit. I love those since most of them are Disel and quite reliable and hold the value too. I have seen a couple of Sunny's for around the 1.5M mark. Are they reliablee and how economical are they? Cheers

got a 2003 Indica.... build quality of cars at that time could have done with a bit of improvement... but my friend's 2007 indica looks pretty dam nice inside... handles quite well, and nippy in city traffic... not sure on the engine/fuel consumption on the regular petrol ones cos ours is a diesel.

Thanks for your reply Dilesh. I have been in an indian vehicle only once and it was a bit noisy and the interior felt very plasticky. Do u feel the same too? Besides, I think they depereciate much quicker than the Jap vehicles (correct me if i'm wrong). What is your view on this?

On another note I would like some views on an Honda HRV. There is one advertised in AL too. I have noticed there is a sudden drop in price in that model. If there is any one who owns/drives/owned one please give your views. And also What about the Pajero IO? One of my mates dad owns one and I have been in it on my last visit a couple of times. Seemed to be a nice compact vehicle but was very expensive on fuel. Any comments?
