not if u fit the right one with the right people.. try to stay away from fancy antics unless u want them like, remote car start and AC on features... becuase these require lot of wiring and messing with the exsisting relay system.

if u put a simple one with vibration, imobalizer, and lock.. u should be fine bro..

If you are fixing a SA system insists for the wiring diagram & installation guide from the supplier (normally comes with the equipment). Then if you have problems with it & if the supplier is not helping you, you can get a knowledgeable technician to remove the system without much hassle. My advice is do not buy if they refuse to give you the technical details. (They normally don't give this because the literature contains ways of temporarily deactivating the system, incase it malfunctions or the remote is lost. They don't want wrong hands to have this info. But my argument is you should know what they are fixing on your car)

thanks a lot bro. i also think it is easy to have a reliable system rather than very complex ones. :)

I replaced the original security system which comes with the Vios with a better one from SunLanka. It's been more than two years now, and it has been working fine.

Dear friends

I Have Vios 2004. It has a security system.. I wanted to know is it with a immobilizer feature or not ?/

Normally all vios come with security system.. so how shall I know it

Jaya

Well its worthwhile trying, get inside the car, arm the security system using the remote, insert the key inside the ignition and see if you can start the car. I assume this will work with an aftermarket security system (somebody correct me if I'm wrong)

There is a slight flaw with my plan though. Factory build ignition systems use a chipped key which the ECU detects when you insert the key in the ignition, so if you really want to test one of those you need a standard key cut and see if you can start the car (but this is unnecessary if you have such a system. A dead give away is a key symbol in the dashboard though not all cars with imobilizers will have it)
