Hi ,

can some one tell me actually how much will be the fuel does in the lancer flat light model (First generation lancer) My one is 1976 Model ?

I Have herd and seen people are telling and advertising 14-16Km Per L , and some are 12- 14 Km Per L.

But i want feel it does 12 or 10 even by practically.

can some one tell me the real answer for this who have use this model car before ? or a some similar lancer model .?

Year 1976 , 1300 CC engine , NO Ac . Tel me the city(in traffic Colombo) / Long distance riding fuel (Petrol ) consumption ?

Or is there can be some Tuning issue in my car ? then How can i correct it ?

Search around this forum to see what are the responses given for fuel consumption related threads. Fuel consumption is something we can't generalize by the model, it's more of a vehicle + driver combination plus various other factors. I for once never get good fuel mileage off from the most fuel efficient car, flooring, redlining, thrashing if you ask why .

Since this model (should be orion engine) is equipped with a carburettor based engine, fuel consumption may vary based on the carburettor ratios (air : fuel) depending on the condition, ware and tare of the jets inside the carb.

I used a tube light version in 1999-2000, which had a 1400 Orion engine with a screwed up carb and GAS converted. Only squeezed out 12 kmpl from petrol in city and 9 or 10 from gas. Out stations it did fairly well, somewhere close to 14kmpl. However, this may not be the best example to compare your figures with.

Try to find out exactly how much it does and get a good mechanic to see whether tuning is optimum. A well experienced guy will sniff how exhaust smells like and would predict what's wrong with the ratio.

Actually Lancer Flat light and 1400 Wagon according to my knowledge will do between 10-14 Maximum(if your car is in mint).you may increase it a little bit by replacing Carburetor Jets with lower size ( for ex :- Main Jet 120 size to 110 , Idle Jet 95-85 etc). Actually i don't know what actual size yours carburetor jets.

But it should be done with a good carburetor mechanic (if it is too low you may have engine knocking and pulling problem)

Other than this

Good spark plugs, rotor, distributor cap,air filter ,contact breaker point,ignition condenser , ignition coil + wires will simply increase you pulling power on it.

My parents had this model about 20 years ago.

As far as I can recall, it did average on petrol, probably around the 10 -12 kmpl range or even lower.

I'm waiting till some one comes and tell me it does 14 -16 . to ask how they made it . actually as for my experience it does 8 or 9 . thats why i asked to reply who have real experience with this . i have herd 1400 wagon is doing around 14 . it it true? then why it want to in the car . ???
