Townace Speedo Meter Issue

Hi guys!

I got a Town-ace CR42. I Just realized my speedometer and ODO meter are not working. What could be the reason for this? Does my van have a speedometer sensor or cable?

Check the fuses.

i guess someone would have removed the sensor. this happened in our hiace(dolphin) few times. nowadays thieves use to rob that even.

No one removed the sensor coz it was working in the morning that day :-)

Ahh the fuse.. I kinda forgot about that! I pray its the fuse coz I dun wanna have to replace the sensor. but then again, is the sensor wired through a fuse? I havnt really heard of that. Btw, I noticed it's not totally dead and the indicator shoots up and drops occasionally when I'm driving and the odo meter shows an increase of 1 km or so after I've driven about 20!!

Check whether the connector to the vehicle speed sensor is loosen. For me it sounds like a faulty vehicle speed sensor, try to find out a working sensor and test to isolate the problem. It can't be a fuse as if it's a fuse, whole section of dash board would stop working.

Sorted the problem! It was due to a loose earth connection. once the earth cable was fixed properly, it started working.
