Chris0628
hey guys.. just got a Axio & the audio system is in Jap.. Model VICS NDCN-W54 is there a way to change the lang to English ? or @ least a user manual in English ?
jdnet
I believe it cannot be done. That player was made specifically for the japanese market. Don't think there's a manual in english either. Your best bet would be to learn some japanese words.

Marry a Japanese Chick, Take the car to Sasakawa Hall everytime you want to change the station, use a phrase book and translate, and write the English words with a TippEx pen, listen only to your IPod/Walkman, Boombox, sing while you drive, hum while you drive, get a papare band and put them in the back seat, or you can get a one of those singing beggars from the Pettah Bus Stop to keep you entertained with old Jothipala numbers. ... the choices are endless. Or you can pull that off, and get an Audio Installer to put one in a langauage of you choice.

Cos I thought these units were linked into other systems in the car such as climate control, reverse sensors etc as well.

Don't know about anyone locally but there is a russian company that does it. You just need to send them the unit. the best option would be to install a oem fit radio. seen quite a few on the #####. You wont be able to tell the difference, as it looks just like the original. Not sure of the sound quality but I guess it cannot be that much worse than the stock head unit. Bjayakody
Hi all, I too have the same issue.. its with a vitz 2009 - the AV system is ND3T-W57. i tried with some japanese translators in the web but its NOT practical.. I called Sunlanka and some other firms doing the car audios and what i got to know was that there is no way of changing the language! But there could be a way! it seems the Navi option is totally useless unless there is no solution Please reply to this post if any of you get to know more info. Further i got to know that if we disconnect the battery , the audio system would prompt the user to insert the map disc! (which we don't have)Has any one got a proper solution? - when i checked in the internet, got to know that it is bcoz of the driver file some xxxx.kwi file is needed. just wanted to know if any of u guys know any other solution... Cheers!

Then U'll have DVD, Navi, TV, Radio with full range etc. See H-t Ad, there a places where OEM systems are available, Price range Rs 55k-65k. I had a trading deal for the one came with my Axio. The quality of the audio is slightly lower than that of the original, but worth the trade-off against the other features I mentioned above. It is not unknown for surplus OEM stock to enter the market via various channels from time to time. An OEM products grey market does exist in some areas. You just have to be careful to tell them apart from the cheap knockoffs that flood the market.
