Recently my friend brought a N16 and on that car top middle on the windscreen there is a sticker displayed 12 and top left hand corner another sticker displayed number from 1 -12 clock wise and 12 is highlighted

My friend told this shows the month of manufactured (according to this manufactured on December)

Is this correct?

Is there a way to find exact month and year of manufacturer in a Japanese Vehicle?

Hi sham152

i doubt you may be able to find the exact month of manufacturer , they keep serial nos for particular year rather than month, you can't rely on that sticker pasted ,why are you worrying about month when you have year ? :)

thanks

That's correct, provided that the windscreen is the original one fitted from factory. :)

That's wrong, that two stickers has nothing to do with the month of manufacturing, But with the regular mandatory vehicle inspection ( Sha.ken 車検 ) required by Japanese law. It's a long process but to get that you need to get a 点検整備記録簿 Tenkenseibi Kirokuba is a 60 point check sheet. The law specifies that a fixed list of items must be checked prior to submitting the vehicle for the Shaken test. Normally japanese garage perform this and after checking the 60 point check list they paste round sticker in the top right corner of the windshield, which has large two digits in the middle and clock like dial with one item highlighted. Large two digits in the middle means expiring year in Japanese year numbering system i.e 19 for 2007, 20 for 2008 etc. This has to be done for every 24 months

After producing tenkeseibi kirokuba together with other 7 documents required and gone through inspection at government site, user is issued the Shaken sticker which should be pasted in the middle of the windshield, which displays the expiring month. Year in back ground, ( in 18,19,20 ) and on top the month

Normally Japs performs Tenkenseibi Kirokuba just prior to the shaken and they both normally have same expiring month.

FYI,

And also good site with images, however this page wrongly list Tenkenseibi Kirokuba as Road Tax which is wrong.
