Is It Safe To Use Airbags When You Wear Spectacles ?

Hi Guys,

I have search over the internet, people have deferent view on this. I think it's good to discuss in AL also. Is is safe to use AirBags if you are using spectacles ? please share your option ?

So do you have a choice? To turn off your airbags ? Airbags aren't something you "use," unlike seatbelts where the choice is yours.

Far as I can tell, it's not an issue. Maybe if you're wearing extremely fragile glass lenses, but I don't know anyone who does that.

You can't use airbags for Christ's sake!!! Unless you're part of the A-Team and you love it when a plan comes together...

From what I just read on the Internet it dont seem to be an issue. I read that most lenses are not even glass.

Don't think it's an issue at all.

Fortunately I've never had an encounter with airbags so far .. but I've broke my spectacles 3 times! And once while I was wearing them (don't ask)...

They are a plastic compound (95% of the time there days) and broke without even causing a scratch.

I don't discount the risk of pieces of lens or frame jabbing your eye, but I count it a lesser risk with lesser probability than killing yourself in a non-airbag vehicle.
