Jaguar S Type - 2002

I am planning to to buy a jaguar S type of 2002 model. Can you please

01. Let me know an estimated market value/ going rate of this vehicle.

02. I'm new to Jaguars. Is there any specific mecanical problem that I should not buy this vehicle? (Eg. Automatic transmission of peugeot)

Saw one advertised for 2.2 million on the hitad. U probably could pick it up for under 2mill which is dirt cheap compared to prices of more popular makes in SL.

Costs for maintaining a Jag would be a different story though. If u plan to do the maintenance at the agents be prepared to pay bucket loads of money. if not check around and see if there are specialists besides the agent.

Best is give a call and confirm. But I highly doubt it would be 2.2 million. There was one on Hit#D-online asking 4.5 million. White one..

my boss has an s type... had lotsa issues with it and he had everything done through the agents.

big $$$ repairs... replaced steering rack twice, all four discs cos they were developing cracks, suspension issues, electrical issues...

but gotta say it's a lovely drive when everything works fine! handles beautifully for a such a big car..

go into sports mode and floor it and the motor really sings...having shutters down helps a lot...

IMHO...if you have enough money to attend to expensive repairs...by all means go for one...

just dont expect it to be reliable like a stereotypical jap car.

Saw the Ad… and when I checked with one of the guy’s all he said was to buy two cars, one to be used as spares and the other to Run. But the price listed on the Hitad is quite cheep.

Early S-Types suffered from reliability problems but those were mostly resolved by the 2004 model year.

beware there's one that may come to the market with a "major" accident repaired. i am not sure whether it is this one in hitad this time. in any case if you get a thoughrough checkup then traces of any major accident would not be hard to find.
