yes yes i am driving my nissan vehicle in the river's of allion and beltas :lol:

Join the club mate... there was a time when the only vehicle you could knock in to is a TukTuk... now it will be a random 141, Belta, Ist, FITARIA and the staple Sri Lankan vehicle for the Everyman, Allion/Premio!

didn't you own a 121 corolla for some time and parised it a lot about how easy it was for you on resell?

That was a long time ago... before every monkey, his mother and wife wanted one... ;)

Besides, as you say, it was a 121... a better car by many standards.

Also, I had a Platz too... long before people knew about it's merits too. I dont put down teh car mate, I ridicule the false following.

Sort of a Paris Hilton fan club...:)

Car sales in Sri Lanka should be renamed to "Toyota Brothels"

Agreed, have been looking for a CIVIC or a Axela and it was bit difficult to find one in a sale. Every where for 100 Toyotas 1 Axela & no civic. It is the behavior in japan, since in auctions 90% of the cars are Toyotas

agree.. 121 is the back-born for Toyota and it is a better one compare to these Axio/Allion.

it's not like i diagree with this sentiment or agree with it. but for my information purpose i'd like to know why you think 121 is better than axio?

121 is cheaper than axio,

plus old is gold

seriously, with axio G u get push start -> if u loose the key u r in trouble, costs 100k to program a new key

i have some respect for rivira from the days of defence reporting. according to this rivira article, import tax, if at all will be even less, resulting in car prices to fall, at least stabalize. so it looks as if this "taxes going up" is yet another ploy of the car sale mafia. nevertheless if the government do actually not increase the tax then i will be quite convinced that they seem to have a longer term plan as oppose to their trditional sucking the blood out of tax payers attitude.

hmmm... 121 really sounds nicer to the ear, and amazingly 121 is cheaper than 141 for reasons hard to imagine. of course old is gold. what happens if you loose the key is indeed a major concern for a car buyer. my dear friend you are spot on. what an articulate answer. i am ever so convinced now.

Well IMHO i think the 121 G and G ltd interiors are far superior to the axio. Things like "wooden" finish, illumination dash board and nickle door handles were standard on these models. Many Axios don't come with these. The axio for some reason fits perfect for the average car buyer in Sri Lanka, but i seriously think the Toyota Corolla Axio is a downgrade from a Toyota Corolla (121.

hope the tax is going to decrease... only reliable rumor I herd was that the VAT is going to decrease to 10%

The car tax should come to the point it was in 2002 when a Prado was 5 mil along with 520i and Jag X-Type.

Why don't you wait for the facts rather than looking for rumours?

Didn't some idiot politician go thru some convoluted explanation about why petrol prices are high and promising to bring down the cost by making some changes to the supply chain a few months ago? There was celebration and rejoicing. And nothing happened and everyone forgot.

So just wait until it actually happens. Rumours are worthless.
