Allion Cv Joint

Guys;

I have been told that Allions and 121s need greasing the CV joints after every 40000KMs; is that true? I know the CV joint issue is always there in Allions and 121 cars; but, does this routine will help to prevent that? or is there any shorter mileage to do that?

buy HDK C.V joints they are a bit pricy but made in Japan...

chances are that the rubber boots will go bad before 40k and needs replacement and greasing will have to be done with a new boot going in. Normally CV joints last a very long time provided the boot doesn't get damaged and screw things up.

And the other thing is that most of these local myths about certain cars having certain issues don't hold water

CV joints in any vehicle would go bad if it doesn't get proper protection and lubrication

What you suggest is not to grease it unless if i need to change/replace it? or else; shall i grease it before 40k? mine is now around 19000KM. (ODO)

in all honesty i have no idea how often you'd have to re-grease a CV joint...

but new grease and new boots will always be good...

personally i try to inspect the gaiters aka boots once a week...If they are damaged...new boots and new grease would be the way to go...

if the joints are worn i'd just replace them...

no idea about the price for a 121 but my old ae100 cv's were 6500 odd per pair..genuine hdk...

Do anyone know the place to buy CV joints for my Toyota Vitz (KSP90)?. I have called several shops in panchikawaththa but they told no any Japanese parts received yet.

Checked with Agents. They provide only the complete shaft assembly, near Rs.90,000 (out of stock, to be import)

Therefore, need to by aftermarket durable new part or used part in good condition for reasonable price....

If you want a temporary fix for an acute problem, a lathe can usually fill and fix the current CV joint. The repair wont last long but might buy you some time to source a proper one.
