Just a suggestion as well. One area really lacking in most garages nowadays is good electronics diagnostics. There are plenty of good diags options that run on a laptop and the interfaces for say Nissan / Toyota ...etc and even the BMW's are freely available on ebay and quite cheap. Save you a load of time in diagnostics and the setups are generally very accurate with diagnostics. Keep a BMW DIS at home purely for the purpose of not needing to get heart attacks when I go to the agent and knowing whats up with the car and not needing to rely on anyone. Simply laugh when the agents suggest changing this, that and the other now

Well I thought I'd bump this thread with a few more questions I have.

1. I'm thinking of having a 10 minute oil change station at the facility. I like some of you do not believe servicing a vehicle is the best thing in the world to do, plus I do not like the mess in service stations and the time taken to get through a single car. So basically would I be able to attract people for 10 min oil changes? It seems like the majority of people believe in getting their car serviced.

2. Should I have a body shop onsite or contract it out?

10,20, 30 mins wouldn't matter to me if I can just have only the oil change done rather than doing a "service" and ending up doing stuff that isn't even recommended in the service manual. Guess "oil change" only isn't something that is sold here...

Well I think KL**N P**K offers it now. This whole spraying oil and whatnot on the underbody does not sound right to me. I've never had a rust problem with any of my vehicles. Besides making the service stations really dirty and wasting three hours I really don't see any positive effects of oil changes. I think the best thing you could do is to just hose off the underbody without a pressure washer.

BTW if you want just your oil changed, bring your filter and oil by my place. I'll be happy to change it for you for free. Got plenty of free time these days and not enough projects to cover the time.

Where is your friends garage & what's his name as I am also in Seeduwa. I have also got down all the equipment needed for an EFI & electronic workshop. I have also rented a small place & am looking for a trustworthy partner which is really hard to find these days.

Having experience in the EFI tuning & motor Diagnostic field in UK for many years & running a garage in South East London ( JD Autos - UK ) I have come to settle down in Sri Lanka. My workshop is fully equipped with the latest tools from Snap-On USA & many European & English makes. I also have the scanner for all Japanese OBD 2 protocols & the EOBD for European & American vehicles. I also have laptop based scanners for OBD 1 models which are for the older vehicles. Having invested in the workshop, I am looking for a working partner with a good knowledge in automotive electrical field as I am hoping to expand into this side as well. The prospective investor should have an in-depth knowledge in this field & be able to work confidently in all makes of vehicles & be able to invest their time & effort in developing the business with me on a profit sharing basis.

As I have been away for a while I dont have many contacts & am trying really hard to get this off the ground.
