Need Help Purchasing Ecu Computer For A Corolla

I am in the USA trying to assist a family memeber in SL locate a ECU for a 2004 Corolla XLi. The car is a 5-speed manual transmission. The part# is 89666-12060.

Can anyone please provide me with some guidance on how I can set about locating one? The dealer cost is insane and there is a long waiting period to get it. Any other options available?

well the best way to get one is Delkanda, Nugegoda. You will need someone to visit a few shops there and compare prices and bargain a little.

Hi Kushan,

Since the Corolla (I'm guessing 120 and not 121)is a 1300cc manual, you might have to resort to the Agents to get down the part (as it is not a JDM spec). You can also check with G.S. Motors in Panchikawatte.

What might fit is a unit from an AE111 if at all.

Sometimes, the b.new ECU is so costly, it is more economical to get a full kit to convert the engine and electrical system (wire harness/ ecu included)to JDM spec as crazy as it may sound.

there is guy in wattala...more like alakanda close to my place who repairs ecu's....goes by the name "ecu chaminda"

dont have a number for the chap but i do know how to get to his place.
