Hey Belated Wishes Mil. Apologies for the late wishes Hope you had a big party

Ha ha Thanks Ripper but she is not really restored. I have got her running beautifully, and parked out in the garden , thats all. She is used regularly though, and we all love her. Thanuskha - restoration is a very expensive business. But getting her done to useable condition is the first thing to do, and is not so expensive. So get her running and then resto later. Enjoy the vehicle first. By the way the engine is a 2.2 litre 4 cyl, and simple. Parts per se are generic and can be found. Petrol engined landrovers are rare in SL and not many mechanics know them. But the agents are good. All the best and let me know if I can help. Cheers

he he Yes yes and remember this is AL, so Fuel consumption, resale, and only 2 doors. So price has to be half that of a 4 door LOL

I humbly have to disagree. Common mans perception. Most brands have now upped their game. In the JD Power survey Mercedes was so bad that they called the 3 pointed star a tarnished 3 pointed star. When Merc started trying to gain market share and decided that they wanted to go mass market - remember the A class? They ran into a huge amount of quality issues which are only now ( last 5 years) being addressed. Merc learns a valuable lesson. people who pay top dollar for quality will not compromise. A very true story about mercs goes like this. In the old days the engineers and designers would build a car to the best of the available material and technology. Then it was tested and after proving, it was then handed over to the accountants to put the pricing + margin. This was the way it was done up until the 80's. Then they turned it around- the accountants told the designers and engineers how much it could cost and so ....... Take a look at all the old W123s still running - no rust and all the owners are very happy. Still getting over 1 million and most owners wont sell. I have been looking for a petrol one and no one wants to sell ! I rest my case. Btw I have 2 Nissans now

Whats this Upul going on about ? Jap engines have been put in landrovers- Period. Was out on a 4x4 expedition during vesak and we had 2 Landrovers - both with Toyota engines. So its been done and done well. Suggest Upul try the Landrover mechanics. I for one will never convert my oldie with any jap engine . kinda makes it NOT a Landrover in my opinion.

Dialog Tv Test Transmission Of Discovery Turbo

Get everyone to keep sending the feedback. DTv has only limited transponder space so we must ensure that Turbo gets added to the channel line up. This is something which we all asked for at the launch of Dtv! Its a fantastic channel and will appease our appetite for Petrolhead action -
The older 4x4 s are not really meant to cruise comfortably at 80+ mates. Even the tires are not suited. My old Landie would have a heart attack ! Max I can do on 4th gear is about 60 Kmph ........ My other 4x4 - I just did Wilpattu and then the next week Yala , did hit 120 , but she was not happy. But cruising happliy at 90kmph on 5th at 1800R Rpm ! 12KM per litre average that trip - am a happy guy.

Eh? Have I missed the topic ? The famous forum Fuel Economy questions......hoo boy.... Nissan Cefiro : A33 : 7.5 in City traffic with Ac 100 % Outstation : over 10 + Nissan Patrol : Y60 , with TD 42 (4200cc) 6 Cyl Diesel: 7-8 in city traffic
-
How much more do you guys want from a 1500 cc engine mates ? Buggsy : Are we on for Friday ?
-
Well price is all relative. I too had a GT Capri. Does this one have the 6 meter dash ? With RPM Meter? The biggest cost will be tinkering , painting . Then tires, interior, electrics, battery, etc

Scrutineers do check. However we can only check for the visible signs of a roll cage adhering to the regulations. Things like if the cage used new steel / old painted one etc is upto the competitor, who knows that the rules are enforced for their safety. I was at Carlton and almost got run over by a few mad A..holes after the races who were tearing up the track - without any regard for the people walking about. There was a Diesel Carina and some guy in a Red International jeep who were hammering around the track and did not even slow down when they saw people on the main straight. BTW: Pasindus crash was severe as the car apparently flipped in the air before landing - hence the rollcage did a good job considering.
