  1. MY EYES!
  2. It's difficult, but not impossible! I saw an absolutely gorgeous, mint 17- KE72 with the original white paint (all the stickers were in place and no masking lines around them) on Kirimandala mawatha on Saturday. It was in unrestored condition (which wasn't bad), but imagine what a cut & polish and some TLC would do! I'm guessing it's a single owner car as well.
  3. I'm with you on that, Don! However, how difficult do you think sourcing the original wheels and other bits be in Sri Lanka? I'm not against the modifications on that Orange 510, but I think I'd prefer a 'factory fresh' look as well!
  4. iRage- True. New cars come with the scissor jack, jack handle, lug-nut wrench and a tool to remove the wheel cover. Maybe it's a cost cutting measure, but it means that the new owner won't be able to attempt any repair. @Isuru, I bought the lenses only. These are aftermarket lenses made by a manufacturer called "DEPO" and it's from Taiwan. A Google search reveals that DEPO makes aftermarket lenses for a range of cars including VW and other European marks. The general verdict it that their stuff are good for the price. Some work was done on the original assembly to remove the old lenses from the frame and then the new lenses glued in place using Silicone. The lenses were bought from Panchikawaththe, I'll look for the receipt and get back to you with the name of the vendor and cost of each. See Post #70 on page 4 and Post #103 on page 6 for a detailed account of the procedure.
  5. I'm guessing that car wash isn't in Sri Lanka?
  6. That poor Ford!
  7. Yes, that makes sense! For some reason I thought the column was missing on this 510, it's not
  8. Here's a photo update- The tool kit, after being washed, scrubbed and patched-up (to the best of my ability!) The patched up bits- Managed to find a TOYOTA slip-joint pliers from 'waththe as well! The 'horde'! Looks like I have everything too! But my little toolkit fails in comparison to the absolutely EPIC toolkit issued with the FJ40s back in the day! Whatever happened to you, TOYOTA?! WOW! EDIT: I just read that the owner of the above tool kit was informed by a FJ40 historian that this particular kit was something put together by a FJ40 owner! Double wow! Regards.
  9. Interesting indeed! Great stuff from a great band. Have a listen to "Whole Lotta Rosie"...similar theme!
  10. I see. That's the deal with these cool steering wheels, you lose the original column! I'm guessing finding an original wheel and column would be tough?
  11. and they'll charge more to 'preview'!
  12. Is the Nardi installed with a boss kit or is it with the standard column?
  13. Yup! @VCBI I'm not in the industry yet, but I hope to make it there someday!
  14. they're the type who add "boku alowheel" to gain another 20,000 in price!
  15. Welcome! I'm unable to answer your question, but I found your name very interesting! Are you in the airline industry by any chance?
  16. They really shouldn't mess with the Dualshock!
  17. Just found out from a original parts catalogue that the so called "beaver panel" is originally known as the "deflector"! Who knew?!

No problem! I sent a query for some parts but I didn't receive a reply. DARN!

  18. Wow, the White 510 is beautiful! Do you like the door mirrors or are you interested in fitting fender mirrors on it?
  19. Out of curiousity, how many KMs are on the odometer? Looks 42,000 to me!
  20. Ahh...that's my little secret! LOL kidding...all fat PS3s have 110V-240V adapters inside (model numbers CECHA-CECHH) I know because I dismantled my console and gave it a good clean before plugging it to my TV. The sticker on the outside of the console may say 110V but the power adapter inside actually says 110V-240V. Which model do you have? Fat or slim? Regards.
  21. Visited a shop in Mount Lavinia that makes metal 'sri' plates and was quoted 2,750 for the front plate only. Is this the usual rate?

metal sri plates are expensive, because of low demand. they go for the same rate even around darley road.

Great. I'll take my car around for an order then!

  22. I'm fond of the Datsun sunny two door as well. There's a relatively common 4 door brown example in beautiful condition down airport road in Rathmalana. The only change is that the owner has replaced the original steel wheels with Sunny B11 steel wheels. Still looks decent.
  23. I think a 'fat' PS3 can be had for about 15,000-18,000. Keep in mind that these models are prone to overheating and some DIY is required to prolong their lives. If you're serious about getting a console, find a friend or relative in the US who is due for a holiday soon and tell them to buy you one from eBay. That's how I bought mine and it cost me about 12,000. Of course, mine was sold as faulty.
