  1. If there is a tax portion (full or partial) to e paid when transferring, then price of permit will come down or even be 0. So it becomes a good deal. Those who are given the permit can enjoy the vehicle (which is the reason for the permit) and will not make money from it.
  2. though this is an utterly useless topic as many have suggested, you still haven't realized that you're wrong. I still can't find the objective anyway. To sum it up, we discuss cars here, not money. good luck!
  3. if the comment on banking the money is for my post, it's just to prove the OP wrong. Doing that will save money, but I myself am using a car pumping petrol and travelling around, just for all the reasons you mentioned
  4. Since you brought this up, average km cost is 35/- for metered 3wheel (only 1st km is 50/-) For my car the average fuel cost is around 18/- per km. But when I approximately add the services done, lubricants, brake pads and all that, even apportion the insurance cost, it comes to around approximately 25/- per km. So, Yes it is cheaper. But did it occur to you that we have to spend money to buy a car or even pay the lease? Do you know that if we deposit the money in the bank and get the interest that would more than cover our travel cost?
  5. hi trinity, my appologies for the delay. forgot about this. what he told me was there was some damage during the rainy days and as a result it took 4 hours for the bus to pass a stretch beyond omanthai which usually takes around 2 hours. so it could be worse for cars. This is not first hand experience so I cannot tell in my own words. It's unlikely that the road is repaired so soon either.
  6. I'm surprised cos my dad made plenty of visits in a vios (driven by someone else) during that period (2010-2011). I once went in a van and the road was being done, but there were lot of 'wavy' streches of road which are not good. I heard the roads are much better and manageable by car BUT, heard that some parts have been badly damaged due to the recent rains. (This was told from someone who travelled by bus during the rainy days), so you better check on that. You route is the best route I think and preferred travel time is during night. Just get ahead of the hordes of buses and it will be a good drive.
  7. if all other previous hybrid owners were like you, this would have been a different place.
  8. still the link is not posted properly. Posting something properly is a good start before commenting on how a forum should behave, Anyway, you may be trying to imply that USA has the highest nominal GDP in the world. Does it say that USA is the "No 1 country in the world"? Various people have different way to argue on that so your point does not count. Anyways, this is way OT now.
  9. what happens when someone is using the toilet :S
  10. you have to spend time and read through many posts in this forum to get that point.
  11. Is this an issue with only Samsung or with Jelly Bean?
  12. Thanks Az, I didn't see the brake light during day and spotted it only when it was dark, by then it was too late. First I thought it must be some short circuit. Aftet Jd's reply, I searched the floor and found the bush. Now, I kept it in between temporarily overnight. Was thinking of the multibond fix, but after reading your post, I think I should get a replacement. (It seems to be in good shape though) Well, saved quite a bit of time and rupees thanks to this forum! Cheers!
  13. Hi I found the switch and figured that was the bush I found. I'll try to fix it tonight hoping that it will stay on. Thanks a lot for the quick solution
  14. Thanks jd. Is this bush a small circular piece? If so there is one on the floor. I followed the arm of the pedal but couldnt find a box. Found a connector i think which is going towards the engine bay side
  15. My battery suddenly seems to have drained and could not start the car. Now I noticed that the brake light has been on all this time although the car was parked. It's a Toyota Vios. I'm waiting for the batmobile to jump start and think about this tomo. But it would be the same case tomorrow as well. Is it a simple issue that I can fix or should I take it to the garage?
  16. anyway, had a look at that calculation and laughed all over again
  17. What he said was sudden movement inside can cause an issue. A loaded lorry does not move by itself, while what bus drivers/conductors do is totally different story
  18. I found this to be a good read if you're interested about yarl devi http://www.slrfc.org/2008/12/05/yaal-devi-the-queen-of-express-trains
  19. I thought those 3wheel lights don't have proper alignments. Kinda high for the vehicle.
  20. When I was small I saw these odd 'rail tracks' on some roads in and around pettah. At that time I thought maybe they had rail lines which were later removed I remember even seing such tracks inside chalmers granary (recently they have levelled the ground i guess). Was this some kind of tram car station of sorts before?
  21. Reduction in sales and a market crash are two different things IMHO. Have unreg vehicle sales reduced? - Yes Have the prices of all vehicles come crashing down? No Whatever said, only those vehicle owners who are desperate to sell their current vehicles or car sales who are on excessive credit will keep reducing the price till they are sold. Other than that, people will hold on to their cars till they get a good price. Besides, Sylvi, you wouldn't have visited millions of vehicle owners who are selling their cars. I'm sure that the duty increase on cars have encouraged people to look at the 2nd hand market instead of buying brand new or re-con cars, which actually means that the 2nd hand market will thrive.
  22. transworks square is nor more used as a car park as it has been given on leave for the Krrish property development
