Devaka, do you have any idea of the lifetime of these engines? howmany KMs can they do before the engine needs to be overhauled?

Devinda has got valid points, there is a significant difference between the price of 325 vehicles and normal ones. The amazing thing is that there is no base in it. after all both the vehicles are legal. Yeah, If you intend to run the vehicle and worry less about resale value.
  7. No not really Supra. I'm still on the search.
  8. What is this EFI bsiness? Is it better than the normal turbo engine? will it provide a better fuel economy?
  9. Many thanks Supra. this one costs about 3.8+M. It seems the 2LT engines in Surf and Prado do through this problem. Found the following forum... a bit scary http://www.hiluxsurf.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=453098

    Prado On Fire

Outch!!! Sad scene... such a nice vehicle.
  11. Thanks for reading. I'm checking out a Land Cruser Prado with a body permit. It has the 2LTE engine. The body and interior seems to be in fairly good condition (LJ78 body). However I'm curious about the following; 1. I have heard that the engine head cracks in the 2LTE (2.8L turbo EFI) engine due to overheting. Some say that the engine should not be reved over 3000 rpm and to downshift when climbing a hill, so the burdon is taken off the engine. 2. How to detect a cracked engine head in one of these engines? 3. The odometer shows 150K+ kms which the owner is saying as genuine milage. The engine had been swapped along with the body. Will I have to do an overhaul soon? I have heard that this engine can do upto 400K kms before an overhaul. Any truth in it? 4. Does the engine require installing a turbo timer and a pyrometer/EGT meter? 5. Apprecite if you can share your experience on this jeep/engine with me. Thanks in advance.

Wonder how the fabric behaves under the resistance from the wind at high speeds. Great concept though... the car should be as light as a feather...

    Nissan Owners Manuals

    Duh... Thanks a lot Sha7.
  20. Machung, Better check the rubber bushes which the bonnet lid rests on. One of my friends who had a FB-15 suffered from the same problem. When we took it to the dealer, the technician simply adjusted the two rubber bushes and the noice was no more...
  21. Metallic red to be particular. Thanks for all your comments guys, pls keep them coming. "You can look right in the eye and grin the bus driver that cut you off when were minding your business in your small jap car!" <--- I would love to do this any day anywhere

40, maybe able to push the envilope a little more for if the condition is good with the expectation of not having to do much after buying.
  23. One my friends is chasing to buy a Y60 SWB with a body permit. YOM 1989. Has a 4L engine. I was also impressed of the body quality though my limited knowledge on the engines didn't help him much. They are asking 30 lax. I read a few reviews and Y60 seems to be a serious off-roader's toy. Though I think the rig is not meant for day to day travelling with its hulking engine and the wide body. From what I have heard the engine is torky even without a turbo. Do you guys have any experience in owning or using one of these? Would like to know more... Loved the looks of this beast.

    Pajero Exceed

Too bad milinda I missed yours Came across with another today, which was badged as Montero (european brand?). It seemd to be in very good condition and the YOM is 1999, with leather interior and 2500K km on the odometer. But they were asking for 60 which is out of my budget. Still on the lookout

Many thanks for all the helpful comments. Pls keep them coming. There are two generations it seems, till 1993 the engines were 2.5L, the ones manufacutred after 94 have 2.8L engines. They are asking for 4.6 mil. I feel its a bit too much.
