  1. Killer is the 2.5 L engine which attracts Rs. 5.5 Mn. over the 2.0 L 2.0 L hybrid would be Rs. 8.5 Mn. cheaper
  2. C200, A4, CRV (new) E200, X3, 520, A6, Harrier, Porsche Cayenne (used)
  3. CRV
  4. Tax alone would be Rs. 17.5 Mn for the ICE and Rs. 15 Mn. for the hybrid You will be better off buying a Range Rover
  5. If the book says 91 Oct no use of pumping 95 which will add cost with no benefit, i.e your car being brand new import is designed to run in 91. UK import will be a different story as commonly available fuel in UK is 98 and most of the cars are designed/ tuned to run on 98. Pumping 95 or 92 will make the ECU to adjust the timing of ignition to avoid knocking which will have an impact on performance and economy. Quality of the fuel has nothing to do with Octane rating Euro standards specifies vehicle emissions allowed i.e CO, NOx, particles, if Euro 4 fuel is used in a vehicle designed to run on Euro 6 that vehicle will not meet the required emission levels. There could be a risk of Particle filers being clogged which may be more relevant to diesels as petrol particle filters are recent technology. Agents will suggest 95 but it will be you would would be paying, i have never used 95 in any of my vehicles unless it is recommended by the manufacturer and has never had any issues with any of the cars
  6. Euros are good used choice if you find a vehicle couple of years old with good recorded history. Most of them are well cared for by the 1st owner considering the price of the vehicle and most of them are brought by either companies or people who can afford to service at the agent.
  7. Nope it is actually three services in my case as i do around 15000 km / year 3 services @ Rs. 12k and Air filter approximately Rs. 42k, Euro service once a year costs Rs. 60K which included the air filter as well
  8. Honda Service at agents for CRV 2013, maintained through out them as per their schedule Rs 12-13 K for oil and filter every 5000k/ 6 months, add Rs. 8k if air filter is replaced, ATF was around Rs. 15K as i remember Nothing was replaced for 40,000 km. Now in to a Euro each service 15000k / 1 year, around Rs. 60K Approximately 1.5 times
  9. We are taking about this due to the idiotic tax system in this country As per the current tax regime tax for Audi A3 1.0L = Rs. 1.75 Mn. Allion 1.5L = Rs. 4.785 Mn. Given the fact the fact that both cars are similarly priced any one with grade 5 mathematics knowledge knows that actual value of the Audi is Rs. 3.0 Mn more. Go and get it before the government change their mind
  10. Hopefully they will not have to send all these vehicles to Australia ?
  11. If you're in doubt on the above issues go for the Premio
  12. I don't think Honda makes bad vehicles especially for Sri Lanka, our market size insignificant It is all about specs, developed countries demand better safety where as Asians prefer bells and whistles and of cause lower prices This is true even for Euros, they do not offer safety features especially autonomous driving, steering as they do not work properly in our road conditions and even be unsafe at times.
  13. 1st Learn how to drive a dual clutch box without excessive ware there are enough material in the web. Crawling in heavy traffic is the main killer for dual clutch. Other than that regular maintenance would be ok.
  14. KYB are generally bit harder than Jap OEM, but in par with original fit for brand new coming to SL
  15. If you can live with the lower driving position and ground clerence Think whether all the technology you are going to get will be useful in SL, all the safety features and autonomous driving are not programmed for SL and do not work all the time. Upgrade would be CRV
  16. That is Bull S**t, i have been using KYB for the last 20-25 years on my vehicles as well as my parents, i find them to be more durable than the originals. Toyota do not make shocks their OEM is mostly Tokico, Kobe and some vehicles KYB in my view you are paying premium for the red box. If you need originals there are reputed suppliers who will give better prices
  17. Don't loose sleep over this, now it is on new oil 10W 40 should be ok keep an eye over old consumption if you need to top up before the change may be you will have to go back to 20W 40. 118K is not an issue for a properly maintained car
  18. Tax difference Rs. 1.5 Mn. Civic 1.0 L has 127 Bhp vs Corolla 1.2 L 114 Bhp i still would vote for the Civic
  19. T**S Agencies KYB agents, G* Motors also will have generally you will get 15-20% discount if paid by cash
  20. Go with KYB they you could get a decent discount is you go through one of the dealers. Changed all 4 on a Corolla 141 for less than Rs. 50K
  21. Should be ok, as this is generally recommended method for charging the battery or to trickle charge if parked for a long time Make sure you get the polarities correct, generally charges have safety mechanisms builtin Go through the car owners manual just to make sure, generally they will have a section on this
  22. I have seen few over 200k used as cabs. Even a Tata Nano with over 200k
  23. But you did click and read it, and we are talking about the best selling car in Sri Lanka
  24. I don think CS floor will accommodate EVO drive train
  25. you buy this car to run, work horse (work, school, tuition, sports practice) easy to manure in traffic, park. If it is for a occasional drive there are better options
