Yeah, the rear end is a one piece glass fibre extended tail section, and it covers all the electronics needed to run this beast. The wheels are stock with a 8 inch slick .... yeah, they make them for bikes too.

some saw pics of it when it was just a skeleton, but I've managed to get some parts since and it's looking pretty decent right now ... more parts to get until it's roadworthy ... and I've got to get my license. '90 Kawasaki Ninja (ZX600D)

here's the pics of the Busa as promised ... I was using my camera phone and the lighting in the shop didn't help the fact either

Nope, but I bet it has the same turbo kit though and looks 10 time better. It's like a Ferrari red with silver racing stripes ... like I said, I'll get pics soon.

Help !! Major Loss If Power When Really Needed!!!
Mean Green z28 replied to KC2626's question in General
Also make sure you don't load up the K&N filter with too much oil when you install. Use just enough to moisten the filter. Too much oil and it could be sucked up by the intake air and get on your sensors and mess up the readings. If you have any doubts, take your air temp sensor and MAF sensor off and spray it off with electrical cleaner (like the ones you use on PCs) and see if there's a difference. -
I agree with Duncan's reply and would also like to add that with those profiles, the new tire would be a bit taller than the older ones. if you go for maybe a 40 series tire in that width, you might end up with the same tire height and not lose on acceleration, and the speedometer would be accurate too. On my truck, which came with 28" tall tires, I installed 33" tall tires and the acceleration sucks now and also the speedometer if off as much as 10MPH when I'm at about 70MPH (real speed 70, speedo reads 60) ... it might not be as off like mine, but it's something you may want to remember when changing tire sizes.

The Hayabusa is one Heck of a bike ... esp when you get a turbo kit on it !!! We've got a Hyabusa with a lengthened rear swingarm and body kit sitting in our shop lounge right now with a turbo kit on it (we're in the process of tuning it) and it's, in the past, put down as much as 350HP to the wheels ... ON A BIKE !!!!! It's already done a 8sec. 1/4 mile pass and we're going to try and get in the 7's pretty soon. I'll get pics when I can.

I saw one of those vids. that a car actually hit a guy and he went into PIECES !!!

Whoa ... It's YOU !!! I would never say something like that about your Mini intentionally. I must've not checked my post after but I didn't mean it in that way. It was meant to say that you whacked the shyt out of everyone else and that your car was CRAZY fast and I loved it!!! I was at Katu with Nimal Wimalasuriya (from MotoMag) and we were both in awe of the little Mini thrashing everything in sight! Just the sight of the car exiting that turn nearest to us all loud and shyt just gave me goosebumps! I think it was also the year a red 911 raced and also the 3-wheelers raced for the first time.. damn that was funny. You guys are like my idols !!! I kinda grew up around motor racing. Rizvi Farouk was a family friend (one of my uncles was his mechanic and another used to be his co-driver on rallies) and Riyaz Farook (from Expo Lanka) used to be my mums Boss for the longest time ... and, my aunt used to work with Nimal (that's how I was with him at Katu). Sorry to have got you all over my definite mistake in sentence structure. Respect I wish I was in SL, I would have definitely got into some form of racing there. I'm still making out fine with the drag racing scene here in the US though! Currently building me own hi-po drag car out of my once daily driver Camaro Z28 and hoping to go well into a 10 second quarter mile time.

Why No General Section Aka Lounge?
Mean Green z28 replied to Mean Green z28's topic in Feedback & Suggestions
i dont know how well this would work but going through the post in the already available sections, many of them within a section can be converted to one. And the last section on my list is for hangouts, meets, etc. 'cos nobody wants to go through 5 different sections to get a post that he/she knows belongs in a certain section. ##AUTOLANKA -News & Updates, -Feedback & Suggestions ##ASK AN EXPERT ##SPECIFIC MAKES <--- Maybe you could even just boil this section down to Asian/European/Amercan ... maybe? -HONDA -SUBARU -MITSUBISHI -NISSAN -TOYOTA -MAZDA -BMW -MERCEDES BENZ -MINI (CLASSIC & NEW) -OTHERS ##RACING EVENTS -Local Events -International Events ##OUTDOOR 4X4 -General ##CLASSIC CARS -General ##LEGAL -Automotive Specific -General ##GENERAL FORUMS -Lounge -Events, hangout location/dates/times -Members Gallery -Practice <--- if you want to check out new signatures/etc ... or even talk to yourself ... lol -
It used to be there in the older forums where you can talk about anything non-automotive related but every section in the new forums is automotive and most people are just picking any forum (usually the others section in the specific makes) to post unrelated stuff ... am I the only one who misses a Lounge?

Any Interest In A Dynomometer In Sl?
Mean Green z28 replied to Mean Green z28's topic in General Automotive
You're probably talking about the g-tech. Yeah, it's not perfect, but pretty close with some of its readings. Today was the first day that we made some test runs on the dyno and it was a BLAST !!! We can actually simulate a complete quarter mile pass (just like at a track) and get some pretty close times. You just input the weight of the car+driver, rolling HP@50mph (to calculate drag) and some other numbers (to make it more accurate) and it flashes the light just like at the track and you do the complete run right there. It's like a big video game !!! FUN FUN FUN!!! -
Just wondering if anyone has an interest in setting up a full Dyno with wideband tuning in SL ... The shop I work for here in MD just purchased one (will be here in a few days ... I'll post pics when it comes in) and I was wondering if there's a huge need for a dyno in SL. It's not like I have any intentions (or money) to do something like this but I'm a bit curious now. Are there many companies doing custom tuning in SL? and how far do they go with the tune? Do they do the whole VE, spark, fueling or do a piggy-back system that's more like a plugin (with FMU's for turbo setups) ? It's pretty expensive ... about $42000 for a single roller and almost $80000 for a AWD setup, but you can get a regular constant load dyno (like a DynoJet) pretty easy for less than $20000. Renting a local dyno usually costs us about $100-150 an hour and we thought we'd get one for ourselves and cash in on that buisness as well ... and at the rate that we do tuning, we're hoping to get a full return in about 3 years ... yes, long term goals are the bitch! Hopefully with the new dyno, we'll get more buisness!!! Any comments?

Lol ... GUNRACK? lol ... I'm already being called an asian redneck and told that my tags should read AZNRDNK ... a gunrack would seal the deal!

Just put on new (actually used) wheels and tires on my truck. The tires are 33x12.5-15's and are a total change from the stock 28" tall tires that used to make the truck look all retarded ... had to trim the inner wheel well and front bumper a bit to clear (look closely) but, went on without much effort or a lift kit. Ofcourse, I cant take it on any offroading without a lift kit, but I think it'll do for now. (don't worry about the dune buggy frame in the bed) They stick out about 3", so I'll have to get fender extensions (aka. flairs) to keep it legal.

No words to describe the stupidity ... go to ebay and search for auction #4604120692

Hey Guys Did The Suspension Mod Works Great!!
Mean Green z28 replied to KC2626's question in General
err .... what exactly did you do??? -
The Challenger sits on the platform that underpins the new Chrysler 300, Dodge Magnum/Charger and looks damn good, atleast in my opinion. The Camaro also, WHICH I'M REALLY HAPPY ABOUT, looks awesome too. Hopefully, by the time I get out of college and get a decent job, the new Camaro will hit the dealers and guess what my first NEW car is gonna be ???

Yes, snow tires have a different tread to handle the snow better. Don't qoute me on this but, they work differently than mud tires as in they actually run better when they get packed with snow ('cos the best traction is attained by snow against snow), while mud terrain tires work by slinging mud away from the tread and keeping them unclogged. This is the reason why snow tires have more grooves in them (and regular tires have more contact patches 'cos they work in the warm weather to grip the road). Snow tires are also able to keep they're rubbery properties in lower temps than regular tires that get real hard when cold. errr ... for more info, go to tirerack.com ... lol

People who bought the Aztek are also probably the people who have ugly spouses too ... lol ... they work just as well as the others, but they're not that gifted in the looks department. Now, the Acura RL is one FINE PEICE OF MACHINERY !!! My previous boss had one and I'd take it for a spin everytime he asked my to work on it.

Same thing happens here when it snows ... people in 4x4 SUV's think they're invincible ... NOT!!! I've heard of plenty of stories of SUV's that got stuck in the snow than regular cars. WHY? 'cos eveyone else has the brains to drive cautiously when it's slippery ouside. All the 4x4 does it get you to a higher point of no return. That's what I think of the latest electronic crap ... they just help you get out of the smaller (more controlable) stuff but leave you hanging with no return (than a trip to the Hospital or morgue) when they actually go out of the 'safe' region. I know people (and myself) who although have traction control and ABS in their cars preffer to drive with them turned off 'cos they are in better control of thier cars. ABS is a bit helpful in the rain/snow but traction control was a waste of time on our performance cars. They're more for people who don't know how to control their right foot ("oh my god, I was making a sharp turn in the snow and mashed the pedal all the way to the floor and the car went out of control ... why???") ... to end my rant, what good is a good launch without tire smoke???

The Accord is ugly .. I've always thought that. It does however outperform the Camry, but still is ugly. The first coment any magazine made about the Accord it that it performs Very well, but the looks are pretty boring. The Camry maybe boring in performance (compared to the Accord) but atleast it's not ugly. The interior of the Accord is nicer, but the exterior is still ugly. the new rearend made the Accord a little more apealing, but it's still ugly. the rear is good now, but the front end still looks like a drunken Platypus ... you see what I'm getting at? Nobody wants to buy an ugly car, nomatter how good it works ... just ask the guys who brought you the Pontiac Aztek and the older Chevy Avalanche with all the body cladding, YUK! Honda engines are reliable as a camel in the desert but, so are Toyotas (and Toyota has a better reputation for it). I've seen a lot more older Toyota's still running around here than Hondas ... go figure. Honda is doing real good with its Civic and small trucks in the US, but when the typical Civic buyer gets older, there are much nicer well built options than a well built ugly car ... lol I'm done

I like the ZEX kits, I think they're a lot better than the NOS brand kits 'cos they've got the integrated controller and not just a couple of solenoids. Car should deffinitely run like stink! Where do you refill nitrous in SL?
