  1. An unbalanced flywheel can cause this as well. My Vios had this issue, even racing the engine in neutral while standing still would cause small regular vibration which could be felt by the driver through the steering wheel.
  2. It's an irreparable issue, and you should just sell the car to me for 15 laks.
  3. Sent MADZ a PM about this; the forum link from the homepage, and directly entering the url forum.autolanka.com causes Chrome to throw an error stating there are too many redirects.
  4. Machan, the forum link from the home page does not load in Chrome, stating there are too many redirects.

Is there a way to default to "Sort by Date" instead of "Sort by Rating" when I open a thread?

  5. Haven't driven the Axio Hybrid since last Wednesday. Apparently I enjoy driving a manual even in Colombo traffic.

  6. Fabulous bit of work. This will be my next project for the Starlet.
  7. So I had had it with being unable to direct air flow from the A/C in the Starlet. Being too lazy (and cheap) to buy new vents, I decided to spend my Sunday afternoon fiddling with them. I popped them out using a long shaft flat head screw driver. Please note YMMV with your particular make of car, but I think it's safe to say this is common to the majority of 90's Toyotas. It's a very simple mechanism, each louver has a pivot point, to which is attached a spine (for lack of better term) which moves them along in unison. It's this spine bit which disintegrates with age, along with inserts on either side of the vent which mate with round nubs in the vent itself which hold it in place and allow vertical movement. My theory is that these bits are made from a low friction plastic which is more brittle and prone to aging. The fix requires a bit of patience, and some left over pieces of PET (collar inserts from new shirts in their packing work a treat). Note, my fix is extremely ghetto, and I only spent 10 minutes per register; one could easily fabricate much neater and robust pieces, but I have the patience of a 4 year old child.
  8. Ebay has housings. I'm looking for the silver ones for my car.
  9. You guys understand that just because the speedometer indicates a maximum top speed, that isn't an indication of the car's capability yes? My Vios' speedo went all the way up to 200, but there's no way a 103hp car can do 200km/h.
  10. I'll try and get a video of my Hyper 10TT this Sunday. It busted a pinion gear due to mesh issues rising from a 3mm to 5mm shaft sleeve, but I ignored it and drove it anyway. Going to return it to the stock pinion (much slower).
  11. So over the weekend I restored my old Zenit 35mm camera, wanting to bring it back it into service. Took apart the lens, cleaned each element thoroughly, lubricated the diaphragm mechanism, focus ring etc, and also lubed the film transport mechanism in the body. The problem now is, where can I find, if at all, fresh 35mm film carts? And are there still any places that develop 35mm film?
  12. Sorry to bump the thread, but how does fender lining wear out? When I had my Vios, the fender liner fell on the wheel and there was a hole worn into it by the time I stopped, but the one on the opposite wheel was fine, and that was on a 10 year old car.
  13. That is hella expensive, even by today's standards. Was this a production car?
  14. My shitbox i.e. Starlet was maintained quite well during the 20 years of ownership by the previous owner. It has no problems apart from broken A/C vents, 2 sticky power windows and mushy door handles.
  15. Sleep mode does not drain the battery that much I think. I have a Lenovo T450S from the office, and I always leave it sleeping, even over the weekend, and there's more than enough battery. Check the windows logs to see exactly what happens. You can look for the wake up event and follow what happens from there on.
  16. Did you specify "run whether user is logged on or not"? if so, Utorrent may not work without a user, since settings are saved to and taken from the logged in user's profile. It's been a while since i've dabbled with windows in general as i'm mostly a *NIX user.
  17. How did you create a wake up schedule from sleep? the computer is effectively inoperative, there are no active processes during that time.
  18. Utorrent has it's own scheduler, why not use that? Use RSS feeds to automatically detect new episodes as and when they arrive.
  19. Looks like they have also introduced the WxB grade to the facelift, and this time it's available on sedan as well, not just the fielder as was the case with the pre facelift.
  20. yey the forums are back! I likey the format. I'll upload the missing pics when I'm back on my work computer.
  21. Upgrade those plastic all bushings to ball racers, also after you get the hang of things.
  22. Once you get the hang of it, upgrade to Tamiya CVA shocks, which use shock oil. You'll feel a world of difference in terms of handling over rough ground. Also read up on this. http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric-off-road/828544-tamiya-tt02-tt-02-rally-off-road-thread.html
  23. The Starlet's tachometer is off by about 300rpm or so, it idles at 500rpm and I can do 50 in 5th while the needle points to 800rpm. Will I have to rip out the gauge cluster and bust out the multimeter?

  24. If build quality is good on Iphones, then the screen shouldn't crack so easily, no?
