  1. Its held by 3 screws. one inside the plastic square behind the door panel, if there's only one behind the armrest the other should be where the window control switches are. pull the switch board up gently from the front because its locked from the back. everything else is held together by plastic clips so just carefully pull the panel out. the winder motor is fastened by 4 size 10 bolts. remove them and you should be able to get the window back in the groove. but get someone else to hold the window up while you are removing the bolts. otherwise it'll just fall and break. if you don't feel confident by all means take it to a garage. also don't hold the switches if the window isn't moving cos the motors fry too easily
  2. dude! when you had your chance to write a decent response two days ago you chose to talk about your sexuality, which being a prius driver I'm sure you have to explain quite often. And now 2 days later you think you can impress us with some google search results about "real porsche owners". Anyway since you went through all that trouble allow me to give you a better explanation. I was there when the Panamera hybrid was launched in SL. most of the people there showed up in their own porsches. other invitees were high ranking corporate officials and some brilliant entrepreneurs who I'm guessing porsche has identified as potential customers, people who deserve such a car with their hard earned money and who know how to look after them. Have I seen someone from that crowd driving around in a hybrid porsche? I'm afraid they all look like people who got rich yesterday or some botique owner with some political connections. the sort of person you'd see in a prado/montero diesel or a cygnus wearing a sarong with a blinged up wife in a saree on the other seat. most of them who got no clue about the servicing costs and the attention it requires eventually. after all that montero they bought in 96 still runs ok with a service every 3 months. and parts are dime a dozen.
  3. probably the first time a maruti saved a life. then again it goes to show how you can never depend on it.
  4. Hahahaha omg! this is coming from you after your valuable response was this
  5. Crishan's right. it could very well be the mounts. but first check if the vibration goes down considerably when u shift from D to N while stationary. it could be in need of a tune up if the idling rpm keeps fluctuating when the vibration is happening. like if it goes below 600. if not I think the agents are just trying to cash in on the situation. If its non of these I've heard there's some coil related issue in most swifts. Actually I felt it in only one and its owner who told me this story. So I'll just leave the swift owners to comment on that.
  6. oh no! now he's stopped talking about virtues of hybrids and started talking about what's gay. some people have such limited interests I tell you.
  7. Dude I don't give a rats ass about how many porsches are in sl as long as they are in the right hands. not with the nouveau riche, who'll just ruin it with bad maintenance cos they just upgraded from a 120 prado, and cause people to make unnecessary stereotyping about genuine porsche buyers who just buy it for the brilliant car it is, the same way your extensive and rather unnecessary marketing has made the most sensible prius buyer, or the hybrid driver trying to get home in a hurry, look like a complete idiot. p.s. since you are so good at taking sh*t why don't you come wipe my ass?
  8. of course they are cheapskates. how much are those hybrids retailing at? 17-21 mil. that's a porsche for montero/prado diesel money. a very inviting prospect for almost anyone. But are they real porsche customers? not unless they are old money or can afford to buy an s class, at least here anyway. that's why I see so many mudhalali's and the likes of hiace drivers getting out of cayennes (god knows how many of them are leased) so what hybrids have done here is opened the door for a bunch of middle class people to buy into a badge they couldn't afford earlier, the same way the prius brought motoring to a bunch of idiots who don't even know if their cars have wheels covers or alloys p.s. expecting a lot of those porsches to go wrong due to bad maintenance etc
  9. has to be my liteace noah. for me its an institution. it taught me how to drive, taught me how cars work and how to look after them, taken me and my loved ones to all corners in sri lanka, towed other vehicles out of trouble, hauled parts when they were broken, carried supplies for people in need, ferried sick and dying to medical care, carried pretty much everything i own, embarrassed newer fitter vehicles, showed me and my numerous girlfriends over the years a good time in the back traveled across undrivable terrain for important projects, made a brilliant makeshift pub and a hotbox, its been slept in, painted on, driven through floods, riots, nearly everything you can imagine. best of all, when something goes wrong I can fix it for 3.50. Don't have to think twice about leaving it on the side of the road in any part of town, it keeps up with all kinds of traffic, returns a very reasonable amount of kms per litre no matter how i drive it, will carry 7 people in comfort over almost any terrain thanks to 4wd and soft suspension and various other late 90's gizmos like dual zone climate control and power this and that. Honestly, I don't think I can ever replace it even if I tried.
  10. This is what he was on about
  11. Care to tell us more about this show MD?
  12. why can't WE get together and do a car show? we got some fairly good ideas between us, the right contacts and enough manpower and equipment to cooperate and put together something nice. In the end we can just take it to some tv channel like a teledrama producer would and get them to play it, if thats how it works.
  13. OMG! all that trouble and 194 is all its had to give. wish we had idiots like this on our expressway. would love to see the look on their faces when I overtake them in my diesel van
  14. after being driven around in various states of intoxication in countless axios I must report the dull interior still looked just as unattractive. that's like saying Ranil Wickramasinghe looks sportier than J R Jayawardane
  15. there's an auction happening right now at the ratmalana SL I******* yard. about 300k should get you a wrecked cb8 with no papers. if that doesn't work try a broker who sells wrecked cars. or ask a garage person. they know this sorta people.
  16. Oh californikan! I thought you know this information by heart. or at least mutter it repeatedly in your sleep. anyway here's the link http://toyota.jp/aqua/001_p_001/spec/spec/index.html
  17. The aqua that claims to do 40 km/l is the base L version. its doesn't even have power windows in the the back. even a v8 land cruiser would do 40km/l if it only came with the engine and the wheels. Lets look at the G or S version, the version people here would actually buy. what do they return? 37 km/l according to "government tests" and how does an average prius stack up against these figures? it does 35.5 km/l So all this trouble just to get 1.5 km/l extra even at your hypermiling zenith. and the price for this amazing-ness. 4.2 million as I saw in the papers yesterday
  18. why do they have to do the show live anyway? IMO a car show should never be done live.
  19. some of the longer slides were pretty ok. but can't ignore the fact that most of the sound effects were taken from 2 fast 2 furious
  20. I got a broken fuel evaporator thingy which makes the car smell like petrol whenever I turn off the engine. maybe I should get it fixed before it goes up in flames like my uncles cefiro.
  21. staggered by the number of Nissan Stagea hearses I've seen recently

I actually saw only 2 so far. 1 1st gen and a 2nd gen. both around kadawatha. if a japanese saw them he'd probably die of shock

nope all original. good enough to arrive at the graveyard sideways.

  22. Apparently this is some big movie in malaysia or something. This is when the hero was trying to make a wild getaway from the cops who started chasing him while he was drifting. I guess these guys aren't far behind the Indians when it comes to making rubbish action movies.
  23. Don't just call this a guide for premio owners. the allion has the exact same unit and a friend of mine who owns a rav4 managed to pair his phone all on his own after I gave him a demonstration in my allion. So I guess this works for all contemporary toyotas. anyway I got a Japanese friend of mine to translate all the functions today. you can press the voice command button on your steering and say "denwa-o-kakeru" and access the phone functions without taking your hands off the wheel. Then you can say "bangou" and enter the number and say "ha-shin" to start dialing. She wrote down most of the commands but I left them in the car so I'll post them tomorrow.
  24. Nobody really maintains stocks of these newer items here anyway. so your best bet is to wait till avinda brings it down for you. won't take all that long because this sort of parts are usually sourced from singapore or the middle east. and flown in where possible.
  25. 140 bhp/ton with 4 doors means technically we are looking at a car with at least 160 bhp. but you said you want 9km/l at the same time which is kinda impossible in this context. so you'll have to go for a compromise. if you want fuel economy with some ricer/hybrid thrashing performance you'll have to go for an ek3 or es3 civic rs. a 1st gen vitz rs or a 1st gen vios with a manual box won't be far behind. if you are willing to sacrifice economy a bit you'll be spoiled for choice. carina gt's primera 20v's 2zz corollas 1st gen type r euro accords are all hovering around the 2.5 mil mark. and I'm sure I've missed a lot more. anyway if I were you I'd just drop in the parts from a familia sport20 or an rs into the 323 and use the remaining money to get through a few set of tyres
