  1. looks like devinda's got some competetition selling his z btw dilesh can u please tell me what sort of duties you faced when importing that diesel engine to sri lanka?
  2. yep i was refering to that establishment at werahara. if we add a bit more engineering to those designs we'll have a surefire winner. anyways looking at the trend of using trucks (with garden chairs in the back) as family saloons i think what we really need to do is get license and tooling for a proven chassis and mechanicals of a japanese truck. and just sell the chassis and the rest of the mechanical bits. the customers can buy the chassis go to alawwa or maharagama get one of those so called "face cuts" and stick it in the front end and seal the back with some plywood. not just that if they want a fully built chassis how hard is it to build a cabin? and i'm sure we can build them a damn site better than the chinese
  3. Thanks a lot guys. i was quite confused by what is actually meant by the heat values. So the idea is to get plugs of stock value or hotter plugs if you running stock rite? and getting the colder plugs i mentioned is absolutely pointless then
  4. i think its time to replace my plugs machan well its for colombo. do u guys stick to the standard heat range over there?
  5. i think its time to replace my plugs machan well its for colombo. do u guys stick to the standard heat range over there?
  6. hi guys! i'm changing my plugs to iridiums and i'm quite confused by the different heat values of plugs. the standard heat value is IK16. but the lowest available heat value for iridiums is IK20, which is the next available range. what could i expect if i install plugs of a high heat range? they have four heat ranges available and they are all higher than the stock value.
  7. lol i could have had a field day if i was home wut bothers me is why do we have to form partnerships with chinese companies? how hard could it be to get tools for the chassis and drivetrain of a now defunct japanese truck? after all we have some good coach builders in sl rite?
  8. im with you on that mate! hayabusa is a legend. the name, the symbol, the looks. they got all that spot on. this is a bit like that ssc ultimate p.o.s. beating the veyron in the top speed game. though the ninja seems a worthy contender.
  9. i was never quite a bike fan myself but i've always been fascinated by their engines. been a big fan of the hayabusa motor. and upto now i believed it was the best anyways. i was trying to find out what the power output of the zx14 is. but they've only mentioned the torque figures. helrazor, care to shed some light on this matter?

    Alfa Romeo

they made a spyder version of that??? i like the rear end design. very 250 gt esque i remember when i was 6 i was really fond of the aurelia coupe after seeing one in the calculas affair
  11. i'm glad you brought this up mate. cos diesel cars usually have frames different to petrols. albeit the mounting points are different. so it'll need some proper cut and shut jobs. and the chances are it'll be a pretty crude conversion. and yes if you want to make the best out of the conversion you better install all the parts unique to the diesel. but thats not worth it, and considering the cost of conversion, the loss in resale value, and the actual gains from the conversion i'd say its pretty pointless.
  12. probably due to high compression levels of diesels i suppose. thanks guys! great info
  13. pramodh1(at)msn.com thanks!
  14. but i never figured out why its hard to start a diesel car with the a/c on. especially when the battery has aged a bit. i havent noticed this on petrol cars but i've been warned against starting cars with the a/c on. can someone please explain this?
  15. whats the difference between the rear suspension of the noah and a base model machan? can u please send me the number as well?
  16. that was done some years ago if i recall right. saw it on some foreign site. i had no idea what they were doing. it was like one of those weird nightmares. and right until now i dismissed it as a nightmare. cos it was that strange
  17. never knew what caused them to warp. thanks Elvis
  18. i've done 8 friends in the vitz. we were no higher than 2" off the ground i think
  19. a friends of mine has one here. it is a bit annoying if u are used to having four door cars. and especially annoying when you have to sit in the back but its just basic transportation. and you soon get used to it. doesnt bother me. unless of course some baddies are chasing you and you have to make a quick getaway
  20. try elc*rdo. they always have them. they'll probably set you back about 10k s*n l*nka might have them too. but i'd go with elc*rdo. as for the phone numbers you can look them up on yellow pages

  23. well maybe not the 1gfe but im guessing the bonkers 1JZ-GTE engined car sure is... any idea whether this version made it to our shores? p.s. i'd still try out the base model anyways. it'd be a nice change from our usual fwd sushi diet
  24. yep its mine. not much straight line speed mate! on par with a vtec eg i'd say. its very nippy around the corners though. best of all i can look innocent and girly when i want to and blow away the fiber glass boys when i have to
