  1. Hey machan when was the new arrival....congrats man...n all da best. On the subject however, recently checked out a KA series 2001 hatch....a bit beat up tho, so wasn't keen. shame....oh well the hunt goes on : )
  2. Hi....Super Car machang....infact lookin for one meself. Have a 323 saloon now an lookin to get a hatch. However you've said 96 / 97? The BJ5W came in after 99 I think...... Price would be approx 1.6 upwards for a J series? not sure of this tho. Fuel about 8 - 10 in the city Spares freely available, but the tail light for the hatch may be abit hard to find depending on model etc Good performance, handling, stability....... MFOC dudes over to you........ : )
  3. Hi, I would go with the option of replacing rather than repairing.....In fact I was faced with the same dillema as you about two months back. I also had the same options as you other than for the aluminium on aluminium weld. I replaced the radiator with a second hand one and have found that this "keeps cool" way better than the original did. Paid 12k for it........18k is way too much for a second hand radiator. However just be on the lookout, there are two kinds of radiators....ones that come in an auto and those that come in a manual.......the auto has an extra hose inlet for oil, but this can be sealed and used in a manual car, but a manual radiator cannot be used in an auto. Check an buy. All the best .......
  4. I have the same car....manual tho... Not sure if this'll help or if you've already gone down this path, but could it possibly have to do with the idle speed? check that, then do a tuneup and see if things improve. A good cleanup of the airflow sensor will also help matters. It def helped me anyway
  5. Hi Harry, My vote would be the Mazda Famillia or 323 I have a 323.....Its a good and reliable car. Fun to drive too. The guys of the Mazda Ford Owners Club can also vouch for this.
  6. So so true my friend, ................. Of course selling my Charade a while back, even with super fuel figures wasn't easy. Its all in the name. Of course it's irellevant if the car is partly toyota starlet (This was a G200S).............Its a Daihatsu...Oh Horrors, was the majority response. Helraizor machang, wasn't planning on using your quip to sell my car man....lol proly when I get another............
  7. That be a good one machang.....must try that out if I'm ever asked that he he he............ And Pradfred, just to add my frustration to yours, I think most buggers out there want a bloody Toyota Corolla but are lookin to buy something else. (Madz no offence to you ) Been trying to sell ma mazda now for several weeks, and the first question I got from mnost callers was....keeyak withara karanawada? I understand the current situ an all but 9kmpl isn't bad for a city run is it? Like I said corolla nuts buying other stuff....*sigh*
  8. Machang I'm sorry but I can't agree with you on this.......a beetle should remain a beetle, not be turned into the bride of frankenstein. He coulda restored the car to a perfect example with a lot less spent as well. Sad to see this sorta thing being done man. Me thinks he should be drawn and quartered for something like this. I also can't help but laugh at the number plate........and its on a permit too....
  9. Hey all Mazda people.......check out this creation http://www.seankenney.com/portfolio/mazda/ There are a few more cars made of Lego on this dudes website...... http://www.seankenney.com/portfolio/commissioned_works/
  10. That seems a good plan Madz.....I'm all for discounts
  11. I could do with some choclates now.....*sigh* "As far as I know there is no EK3s holding YOM north of 1998 so you can't find an EK3 YOM 2000 and the EKs came only AT,MT and CVT. Correct me If I am wrong." Bharath you be right machang........CVT known as Multimatic. Quite a joy to drive from what I've heard.
  12. I Use Narva myself....have so for the last year an a half, no problems so far,and they light up the road well. Spent a 1000 for both at the time. Not from M/C tho. A friend bought the Narva at M/C recently and is very happy with their lighting abilty he he. Tharaka, could your problem be with the holder not being able to handle the bulb strength? Did you upgrade the buld from what it originally had? But then if you've show it to several elctric guys they woulda spotted it ne? Anyway hope you sort it out soon, not the best thing running a car with faulty electrics.........words from a song come to mind...'burn baby burn'....lol. All the best.
  13. lol....... yeah Vader on steroids
  14. LOL....Actually no they weren't in white...........he he. Yeah machang, but then my wife has told me to look but not touch.....so no fuss and in an instance like this, you can't help but look really hard
  15. on the topic of dancing girls, we had some at one of our hotel launches and the troupe was dancing in one of the shallow tiers of the swimming pool, by the end of the third routine, there wasn't much left to the imagination he he. Now tell me if you prefer fire or water to 'Light' up a room.........or open area....lol
  16. Hey Ripper Congrats man.....A Boy neda....hope he doesnt turn out like you...lol kiddin man. All the best to you an da wife : )
  17. Hmmmm strangely I've noticed that my car does the same thing on 90........... that aside I found the car does better economy wise on 90 than 95. yeah I know its wierd but anyway.......... Thought it was just a small miss....but now I'm a bit worried. Not on all the time tho. Just once in a while. After this I'm seriously wondering if 95 be the way to go...............considering thats whats recommended even on the fuel cap lid. BTW I drive a 2000 model 323
  18. yup confirmed an I just filled up yesterday.........oh well
  19. machang how come the settlement wasn't done thru the bus guys insurance in the first place? provided that he had the same insurance as you. I rear ended a car once and that guy claimed through my insurance with no hassle. both were on the same insurance tho. but to get back to your problem at hand, yes you will now have to file a new case, but this apparently doesn't take much time to see through. At least from what I've heard anyway. Hope things get sorted soon.
  20. Like XXX said, purely from a resale point of view, best go for either of the Nissans. B14 being the better of that. A known party recently sold his JB plate Sonata H-Matic for 950,000/- Think he lots a load on that car. The car was very well kept by him too. I think maintenance wise too the B 14 is quite easy on the purse and parts are relatively easy to find. We have a diesel B14 in the family and its been very good to us for the last 10 years. A good petrol specimen would be a good bet too I guess.
  21. Hey Supra, belated wishes machang.................all the best for the coming year.
  22. actually 1:18 scale models are the most freely available here........not sure if they still operate, but I used to buy from planet 99 at MC where pee bee marketing used to sell from. But as Terabyte said, I have heard that they also sell from their warehouse, somewher in piliyandala I think. No numbers that I know of though..... I think the next best would be Odel, who stock "Autoart" models, which are the best bang for buck. super detail and generally more workable functions than say "Maisto" or "bburago" models. Oh and btw, if you wanna see some awesome and sometimes rare cars check out these sites Full range of model cars http://www.i-modelcar.com/en/ModelCars_EB.asp All 1:18 model cars beautifully photographed http://118gallery.com/ Diecast model blog........no many 1:18 scale ones but many 'little' masterpieces. http://jdmikediecast.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html Oh and Peri did a photoshoot of a fantastic collection a while back too. I think its in the gallery....not sure.
  23. WOW....Hot Librarian......glasses an all
  24. Hey machang.....Belated wishes. I'm sure you had a blast : )
  25. Yeah heard about it on the morning show today.........apparently artificially inseminated, using sperm bought off the net and inserted with......wait for it............... A syringe bought at the pet store. WTF?????? As Supra said its not for us to judge, but man, this is absolutely freaky........
