Well my friend, nothing beats, buying your first car ( Toyota Starlet EP 71 ) and the car doesnt start the very next day, cause the f****r who had it before did a 'glue up' job ( Not literally ) on the starter motor. Oh and I wont start on all the rust the bugger had covered up. But hey...you live n learn.

Thought I'd use this thread instead of starting a new one.......check this one about renewing driving licences.... They say its not compulsory, so I'll hang onto mine Some of the comments are hilarious http://www.dailymirror.lk/index.php/news/7657-renew-your-licence.html

I thnk what both you guys have is an issue with the ABS sensor. AMI0755 might have a connection issue and Killer-B, you proly need to replace the sensor. Either way, your ABS wont work / work properly till you sort it out. You can get it checked out if you plug in your car to a diagnostic computer, to see what the exact problem is.

Tell me about it.......I've had plenty of experience with their so called customer service, and always tell everyone that its not the place to go. Shame given that LG is such a good brand. In fact a friend who used to work there told me that I should never buy items that are 'On Sale' as they take in stuff that they tell the customer is un repairable and then service / repair it and re sell it as a 'Sale' item. What a bunch of crooks. I'm surprise people still go there anyway, the way customers are treated at their stores. From my experience, Singer gives a far superior service, and from recent experience so does Softlogic. Samsung as a whole is pretty good I would say.....I've had a conventional 'Flat Screen' samsung TV for the last 4 years and have been very happy with it. In fact we bought a LCD as well which so far seems ok

Incidently, two of our hotels bought vans ( Hi-ace shape ) from Micro and both of em were back at the factory a month after purchase, cause the AC packed up, the speedo meter got stuck, fuel gauge got stuck etc etc....... Furthermore, the staff have told me that its most uncomfortable thing they've travelled in. It also sound more like a big truck than a van

You Wus....You caved in under pressure.....All muscle and talk only, no action But youre right....untill someone else comes along, it'll have to be 190 + taxes I guess. I never got the full package to begin with cause our TV viewing time was and still is very limited. But I did pay additional and get Star Movies for another 199 I think...can't remember, just a s a channel to switch to when I wanted to watch a movie...even half way thru However I don't really have any regrets of not getting the full package cause, especially if its movies, I prefer to watch it at my own time and pace as against on a 'schedule' and the other channels are ...well, just there and not really needed. And in any case with no time to watch, whats the point eh? -
Machang I'm sorry but I dont have any experience with a diesel Charade.....However what I do have is experience with a petrol one. A G200 to be specific. Its not in the range youre looking at but what I'm telling you about is what charades are like Bloody good car, but extremely difficult to sell......and like Ripper said also difficult to find a car that has been maintained well. All the models however are generally fuel efficient, the diesel's more so. Parts arent all that badly priced and not too hard to find. quite a few guys in panchi that speacialises in Charades. ...lights are a bit hard to come by tho. Had a couple of accidents and had a time finding the headlight and the signal light.... A friend from office is also currently looking for one, but what I told him as well is to be patient. Best not to rush into it. All the best anyway.....

Yup true that......They'd be able to give you invaluable advice. All the best JD and keep us posted on what you do start on.

Good stuff machang....... If youre thinkin of a classic, you should get get some tips from MasterDon.....

I know man, been a bit busy at work and at home.....And no thats not what I mean But then as you are aware, the threads haven't exactly been the most interesting to comment on eitjer ne?......I've kinda had it with fuel economy and when the next price reduction is.......I'll proly kill someone if another thread opens about 'How to import a car etc etc' I've seen a bit of improvement though, Oh and JDNET, Congrats on your purchase.....when you buy a car its what you want that counts, not what others tell you or make you believe
-
You know, somehow when you say it it sound totally ... err Not Right.
-
Very nice man....especially love the Minors....lovely. Incidently, saw these three models up for sale on a recent #####...you selling? or are you the proud buyer? Either way...love em...

Takes me 3 and a half hours, usually. I leave Ratmalana at abt 4:30am and get to Habarana by abt 8 for breaki And this is doing the legal 70kmph, not over that. Getting back is a bugger though......unless you leave there around 8 or 9 ish... As Sumiya said maybe abt 4 if the truck is kinda slow.....and yes there are cops, but they wont stop you unless you're doing summin wrong ne?

Happy Birthday machang..........have a super year ahead.

I say.....quite spiffy, this new look. Lotsa great work gone into it....Excellent stuff Madhawa.
-
Just imagine the number of cars with body kits that would be featured on the show............ WOW!!!!!! That itself would keep the channel busy, what with some of the ...errr...."creative" examples on our roads.

Many Happy Returns Fuzzo : )

Like Dev said.....Nice car man. You could also try the ususal suspects for vehicle glasses..........they should carry it. Best not to get one cut as the quality could be dodgy. Have you tried David peiris? or yopu could take a drive down the Delkanda area...........

Extremely belated B'day wishes man...Have a super year ahead ...I take it Mr. Wije sent his private kisses?

Awwww thanks for that Rippy This is true might even give the impression of being a 'different' kind of forum. Not to worry mate........things arent what they seem
-
Masterdon, I'd be worried if I were you.......his emphasis on the highlighted bit is sending a few alarm bells to me Sadly, me wont be able to come.........gonna be out of the country till Sat and I dont think I'll want to leave on a long trip the very next day. Oh well.....
-
Spot on mate.......I totally agree with you. Went to Trinco Friday and that was nuts cause of some jackasses who thought the road was their frickin backyard to do as they pleased. Saw quite a few cops lying i wait for speeding offenders with their little toys out. Our driver got copped for 'cutting the line' on the Dambulla strech as well.......he ..errr, somehow managed to overcome the situation Must've talked nicely to them........ Incidently, did any of you read the article on the front page of the Sunday Island? It was titled 'Law of the asses' LOL...an interesting article, complete with a pic of the offending vehicle. Well done to the writer. Machang I think this was announced yesterday...........

Hmmmm starnge the D*MO is clueless........... My aunt got her car in this manner and the entire process was seamless...........she bought a Civic and Stafford did more or less everything for her. They were well aware of the documents & details and she only had to authorise her bank re the money transfer etc. In fact my aunt had a chat with her relevant representative of the IRD and he is the one who gave the details about the engine cap, trasferebility, option of BN or recon etc. You could possibly try someone of standing at the IRD, if known, who might be able to help. All the best.
