Same question popped up on to my mind. Unfortunately only IHS Automotive research company can answer that question.

On the other hand, Focus is just getting its grip on the Asian markets. Launched in China just a few months ago and still not sold in India, where Corollas are already flogged to death. So things can only go up for Focus

Keep in mind that this survey did NOT count the Auris, Axio, Matrix, and other Corolla variants that the Focus competes against. Pretty skewed. If it had counted the Corolla variants, the Corolla is easily the #1 selling car in the world. The real numbers are 462,817 units sold for Focus vs 603,840 for the Corolla.

Also note the IHS study is only the first 6 months of 2012, not all of 2012.

  2. If that is the case, it must be one hell of a tail wind. Possibly from the tail of a huge snake.
  3. How about this one: http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=102428
  4. You don't need to look for genuine brake pads. Just take a sample to Panchikawatta.
  5. Correction. Peugeot-Ssangyong consortium
  6. Do leave a note in Autolanka when you plan to travel on E01 again. I'll try to change my travel plans. Don't want to be a witness of you achieving the Darwin Award.

    Leasing

The government runs advertisements on TV, the central bank runs full page ads on paper on the topic of not trusting unregistered finance companies/individuals. You, being an educated person, should not even be asking this question (I presume you are educated, because you are literate enough to use the internet). If you are still in doubt, read the following thread:
  8. Go to a smaller joint, not a big name one which will rip you off. I recommend Rexton Car Audio, behind Fire Brigade in Darley Road. Their labour charges are reasonable.
  9. Did you ever consider the fact that you might have driven a 1300CC and Schiffer might have used a 1500?
  10. Resolution of the Day: I am going to be nice to people.... no matter how 'interesting' they are. Dear Sanjeev, If a car is moving, the instantaneous consumption is calculated in kilometers per litre If a car is idling, the instantaneous consumption is calculated in litres per hour THIS should be the correct indication in the trip computer So far, no one has invented a method of converting 'litres per hour' to 'kilometers per litre'. Perhaps you and Cali can do a research paper on that. I am pretty sure it will be a scientific breakthrough. Cali is pretty good at researching and making unique conclusions. Please note that I am using the word 'unique' in its broadest sense, the same way some people use the word 'special child'. Average consumption, on the other hand is merely the total distance traveled divided by total fuel consumed. For this calculation, it is irrelevant whether the car was moving, idling, sleeping, eating or fornicating. This is the reason why even when the prius runs on battery and doesn't consume any fuel in theory, it is still considered in the calculation. In fact, the average consumption figure includes the fuel needed to move the car, fuel needed to keep the engine in idle, fuel needed to keep the A/C running, distance traveled while the engine was running and distance traveled using electric traction. All these figures are merely indicative. There are no calculations that can actually give the exact fuel consumption of any vehicle. Again, you and Cali can join hands, use your math skills and Cali's research skills to come up with a scientific breakthrough...
  11. Bullshit. While Hyundai accents are not Toyota Corolla in terms of resale value or build quality, they are not as bad as car brokers would like you to think. If in doubt about resale value, call up punchi car sale and ask how many have been sold in the past 2-3 months. Stop talking out of your posterior.
  12. Once I had a minor accident on my way to work at 8 AM or so. I just called SLIC and asked them to send someone to my office after 3 PM. They took all the details and obliged to my request. Didn't have any issue with the claim. You can always ask them to send someone in the morning. The appraiser will be more than happy to do that.
  13. Actually you learn the lesson for procrastination. Anyway, I suggest writing a letter to them. Even if a claim doesn't work out, you may still be able to keep that in records.
  14. By 307, I presume you are considering a 307SW. It's really a beauty. Does that have the panoramic sunroof? Also does the owner have the seats for the last row? 307SW can be converted to a 7-seater by plugging in the last row seats, which are easily removable. 307 manumatic has the famous AL4 gearbox issue, which is now repairable but may cost you anything between 50k to 200k. Anyways Harshan is probably the best person to answer your query
  15. Mondeo is a very comfortable car and I feel its good value for money. The easiest way to get spares for a Mondeo is thru ebay. If they are consumables like brake pads, u will always find alternatives like Ripper mentioned. David Pieris still undertakes repairs for the Mondeos they imported. Ask for mechanic Caldera. He knows Mondeos inside out. They don't stock spares but you can always get the spares from outside and give them to fix it.
  16. send a message to sellers and ask if they have stocks of the colour that you want. i'm pretty sure they will, because most of them stock these things. also try ebay.co.uk and www.lelong.com.my (search as corolla altis door handle) Edit: Are these what you are looking for? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2009-11-TOYOTA-COROLLA-MATRIX-Interior-Inside-Inner-Door-Handle-REAR-RH-NEW-/320931601099?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AToyota%7CModel%3ACorolla&hash=item4ab9039acb&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/2009-11-TOYOTA-COROLLA-MATRIX-Interior-Inside-Inner-Door-Handle-PAIR-SET-RED-/320932902785?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AToyota%7CModel%3ACorolla&hash=item4ab9177781&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/2009-11-TOYOTA-COROLLA-MATRIX-Interior-Inside-Inner-Door-Handle-FRONT-LH-GRAY-/320932885485?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AToyota%7CModel%3ACorolla&hash=item4ab91733ed&vxp=mtr
  17. Try ebay http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=toyota+corolla+inside+door+handle&_osacat=0&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313&_nkw=toyota+corolla+2008+inside+door+handle&_sacat=0&_from=R40

So u can really negotiate a good price.
  20. Does Autolanka forum look like Mariyakade market to you? DO u think people here keep price lists to give you the lowest or highest or whatever the prices that you want to know? You need to use your common sense and do exactly what your friend did. Give your legs a bit of exercise and go around in Delkanda. THEN you will find the lowest prices. And don't expect the prices of vehicle parts to be controlled like prices of milk powder.
  21. March K11? Lancer? Seriously are they fuel efficient?
  22. If fuel economy is your biggest concern, forget Rio and Accent. Perodua Kelisa manual would be the most fuel efficient in your budget. If you are after a sedan, I've heard a lot of good things about Suzuki Baleno. There are other cars like Geely (which actually comes with a Corolla engine) which should be fuel efficient and relatively newer. If you want 'resale value' too, then maybe a Corolla AE100 will fit the bill. For that budget, you can't have everything you need (resale value, low maintenance, fuel efficiency, comfort), so u will need to make compromises.
  23. Front buffer and grill - 250 rupees bonnet - 975 rupees and 50 cents headlamps - 761 rupees and 22 cents why waste your breath with someone who doesn't have an inch of common sense?
  24. This is the normal font, which is readable by all. Using large fonts like this is not necessary.
  25. Also Pdeepan, if I fix two of your VVTi units, can I make my car Dual VVTi?
