  1. Apologies for my ignorance, I considered this to have an option like older cars. Only way for u to compare is try one without AWD if you get the chance. But be happy you took the wiser option and not a wannabe SUV with 2wd. To any reader; if you get your hands on an older suv / car that allows on the fly switching between 2WD - 4WD / AWD / AWC etc that is centre diff based AWD system safe for tarmac and high speeds. Not in typical 4WD systems! Do try shifting in between. It gives a clear idea how much of a difference in control you get even if it's a typical bend at 60kmph when u get drive to the front wheels.
  2. Just pitching in my part. I'd say AWD is always superior to 2WD of compared. The only reason the industry and the market divides these segments is due to manufacturing costs And the consumer level divides this based on maintenance and fuel costs. Pretty much stating the obvious above . But in all giving thought to safety and utility. An AWD will be superior provided other parameters are equal. And of one cam get past the few bucks lost for fuel and maintenance. And of course if you don't mind losing the RWD spins and roadthrill. sathyajith, mate once u find a slippery stretch please do chuck it into AWD , you'll come running with comments to this page!
  3. The deal was the ek wagon I checked ( zero mileage) was a bit slow in comparison to the Suzuki alto and the wagon r lastly the hustler. Most probably because it didn't have the ISG motor assist with aux battery. Those things are like electric turbos at times in these keis.
  4. Yes same car rebadged. parts are rare, as for reliability the platform hs been around the world a while, Its got lesser power than the suzuki keis but nice interior. The seating position and leg room is quite similar to a wagon R. The market for newer nissans are a bit on the drop anyhow. Take a look at the Mitsu EK as well, It shares some interior parts with 2010s Monteros lol.
  5. Gonna get ready for all the new Toyota Rush threads coming in soon

Hmmm..could be that they are just using the name plate and has nothing to do with the actual old Rush....or could be they are trying a mini crossover MPV.

  7. Would be a lovely write-up if you could spare the time with pics want links
  8. Still amazed after all these years as to how a simple high end tweeter can change how an average car audio kit sounds!

Got some audio upgrades for the Hiace,

      Carrozzeria tweeters with Carrozzeria crossovers

Carrozzeria amplifier and a twin 10" Kicker subwoofer.

Will post some pics when I'm done fixing them

      That's awesome! Do post

  9. I got down soft99 hard wax genuine. It works really well. Brings out the colour and water beads off well. But I feel it lasted only about a month or so in the car I use daily being exposed to the torrential weather here. Besides being washed only weakly
  10.

The auto brake system of my hustler has a strange affinity towards motor cycles

    Especially scooters!

  11. Do your research mate. So many threads on them on this site itself. Matter of searching. I have also given input
  12. I think you are better off buying one, prices have come down, check the popular online sale website "w" Pretty handy when washing your car, reduces the effort
  13. Yes true, oh yes I remember the wheels! you had a post here
  14. Cost about 5000 bucks a can here, I got down some back in 2011, but still amazed how long it lasts, I used one on a 3rd brake light to get the smoke effect, the thing hasnt even faded to date.

I was the only one for the recall, but I had 2 vehicles, each having 3 things to fix,

tailgate lifters, wiper / headlight switch lubrication, passenger airbag replacement, wiper motor lubrication.

The Kandy one is kinda always heavy and the recall had a lot of paperwork!

I see. At least Unit3d M0t0rs is doing a good job with addressing the recalls compared to other agents in the country. Got to give them that.

Yes they do take the trouble

  16. The pic is not clear, give it a try with toothpaste, if it doesnt work, step up wd40-> brasso -> Rubbing compund (Autogylm / supercut)-> 2000 grit paper. by the looks of it , its a gloss black surface with a scuff on the clear coat, does the mark disappear when you pour a bit of water? Anyhow try one of the above, sure to buff off
  17. Not a fan of the vezel but in comparison of any yom vezel with a 1.2 C-HR in terms of power the vezel is miles away. But it's the opposite when It comes to the hybrid larger engine, Body shell limitations are near identical but of course the CHR has more presence and tech also being a bit less common FOR NOW. Looks good but the tyres are bloody expensive it being just a crossover . Is with any older car and newer release comparison the vezel has no issue with basic parts in the market whereas the C-HR is still rare Being a Toyota that will be corrected soon enough I will not comment on the fuel figures as I do not own any of the above models and owners say various bull. Comparison and discussion of the off road capabilities of Both these 'cars' would not be the smartest thing. Bottom line if you are going for the C-HR get the one with the big engine!
  18. So the battery vendor says Panasonic / Yuasa does not thrive well with the local heat and engine bay temperatures in a diesel, thus recommending Exide, the local make!

    1. JayZ

      JayZ

Yes, This happened to me. specially if you have a diesel. I had to change the Panasonic battery in 1.5 yrs.

I had mine that was installed by the agent for 4 years, Panasonic that is

Having Exide MF Now in it's 3rd Year

  19. I am intrigued as to how the lines move as these vehicles do not have steering input and telemetry, is it accurate? does it shift as you steer or does it point to the vacant spot
  20. Get a branded head unit, and a newer camera oem spec camera which fits in the reverse light or to the oem slot, for the right dimensions, not the local drill type, mount it in the oem slot, should be on the spare wheel trim, that gives you a fisheye look where u see the edge of the rear bumper, but not both the side margins. just the outer margin of the center fading away to the edge of the screen.
  21. Just check the pages, there are plenty in the old type also. Not speaking from experience though. Just what I read online and what I got to know from a few people. I guess to maximise engine efficiency they've fitted flimsy bearings which can't take a bit of water. Long gone are the days where we submerged a land rover or cruiser to the bonnet and crossed a flood. These things can't be sure to even cross a puddle. I have accidentally waded about 4 feet in the Leaf and had no issue during the negombo floods. Few years ago.
  22. The issue is common to both the local and jdm models The bearing is not shielded from the elements. An inferior unit the have used. They've washed the undercarriage, screwed up the bearing and chickened you off saying that it is a factory fault. There are cars running in Taxi companies well over 50000 (current model) and some at 80000km ( older model). They just change the oil and run. No issues no warranties not even li-ion battery failure. Never leave your car at the above agent. There have been incidences of material being stolen and shuffled from the car for lesser parts. Also this particular bearing can be pressed out and replaced with an NTN bearing and used cutting the cost to 5000 ish. Rather than replace the whole assembly. Plenty on those fb groups. Do your research.
  23. Try to ignore all of the above and get a Turbo RS, will hold value, turn heads and keep you smiling
  24. Clearly she pulls more now, fuel figures are the same, on the 15-20 mark with AC and hill country. I'm going to switch my Mira also to 5w-30 Synthetic, rather than the Toyota 0w-20 which is semi. As for larger diesels, the oil is anyway thick, going with synthetic is going to be rather financially demanding
