  1. Sadly they dont make nightbreakers for the sizes on the leaf, considering these given the EV thing 6000lm , I recall H.C saying it was a disaster, any input gentlemen? I'm looking at the heatsink variant, not the built-in fan type
  2. There is this story where people say Toyotas tend to have an overclocked odo, so they show higher mileages than they run to show off their durability, any views?

  4. 1. Remote smart Key batteries don't last that long, mostly way under 1 year depending on your usage especially 2025, 2032 and 2016 are somewhat better 2. You have used an old battery probably, these batteries lose charge and have issues with their shelf life, this has happened to me many times even when far from the expiry date, and especially when buying these batteries from supermarkets. Buy another battery from a place where batteries move a lot; ex: Watch repairers/ dealers etc that way you can get a fresh one. 3. Always keep a spare battery in the car, and be sure to replace both the user and spare time to time, or swap in the spare and store a new one in the car. 4. +There is an override mode in every car to start it up if the key battery dies, so read your user guide and know the method if 1 & 2 fail, you may have to contact your agent (expensive) or third party key programmer for a new key (LKR 6000 upwards)
  5. A week in storage and the leaf just lost 1% charge

It probably does that out of design. Lithium batteries hate to be left charged without being used.

Yeah lithium batteries lose energy even if u dont use them

On the contrary, regular lithium batteries have a massive shelf life, and are used as long life power supplies for low power usage applications. However, rechargeable lithium batteries build up internal resistance over time if they are left in a charged state for too long. We use them in our model aircraft, and the rule we follow is to charge them to 40% capacity when they are being stored i.e. not used for longer than 2 weeks.

AFAIK the highest slab is at 45rs, And anyways my domestic usage is way above that slab scheme, so i'm sure the rate will have crossed over to the highest slab when I plug the car. Plenty of announced incentives from the CEB via media, except that when asked from my local station, they have no clue whatsoever
  7. The chap who owns the the march in front never even moved it during the fire, lol
  8. This is the lower proximal bend in front of the entrance to dunhinda falls, The wall marks the border of the car park, this bugger probably overdid the reversing into his slot

Thanks a lot 21 Units from flat from local sources, I've never pushed below 20% so I get around 10-14 units per charge, Roughly 3 hours awaiting bills though

  14. Yup the car is rather large, They've gone haywire with the plastic inside, ballooning it, affecting visibility, and cramping it a bit on the inside, the best measure I could say its the size of a vezel, and ground clearance is also not more than an inch shorter of a vezel.
  15. The leaf does have serious visibility issues all around, and the massive A pillar with its minuscule window doesn't help either
  16. First skid of my life and that on a bloody Leaf, the gods officially hate me now

Rain and that gust of acceleration don't go well, especially on those bloody low resistance tyres,

@matroska, I wish it was as pretty as that, this was more like bambi on ice

To further add to my review, an interesting experience I had minutes ago, Insane downpour today in my locality and upon returning from a minor commute, I decided to overtake this bus, twisty road of course, heavy pour In a rather inattentive manner I just floored it, muscle memory from the hilux I guess, The car did its usual thing whirring it in to pace, but to my horror the thing broke traction halfway and went into a severe skid, I was in the oncoming lane almost sideways with traffic and to my amazement the ESP sorta totally locked the right wheels getting the car in track in a whip like manner which pushed me towards the bus, but luckily he slowed down in time and I managed to swoop back into my lane in front of him, So after many, "nooleng beruna neda" , "parissamin yanna sir" and "himeeta yanna putha" s I made it home, so far no damages on flashight, but I'm yet to see what sunlight will reveal on the car. Btw its a new car thus tyres at 98% probably 34PSI So my point is, be very careful with EVs as this, as that burst in acceleration tends to break traction in bad weather / poor grip situations, be it ESP or some god given program, if the window is to narrow or the minute delay in the program can send you to a certain doom along with others. So don't count on it fully. Therefore please be careful. Thanks

Yes it is, we do have several examples here, Your turn mate!
  19. I don't get the toilet seat joke And for some reason, the whole car is sorta packed with rigid foam, there's no gap between panels anywhere, even the tow eye is screwed in through a cut in the rigid foam, same with rear bumper, door inners etc

My dad had a Mercury Grand Marquis sedan, I pretty much grew up in that thing, The steering wheel was so light as a 4 year old I could turn it. Sheer land barge, red velvet interior, apparently it had a thirsty V8, automatic and the boot could hold an entire bbq grill plus cylinder. Ok fellas try this

These don't last that long, I've seen flickering ones in cars all over, you are better off buying an aftermarket light set

I don't think so, No one I know has had fuel pump issues.

this was after refuelling in Badulla, she made it home, didn't tick the next day onwards

, I suspect the fuel, or some felony the driver is upto on the long run

  24. Found the Video, probably a game, claiming GTR running gear and A Citroen motor
  25. Well simply on the above figures it looked like I've used a unit per km, or less, but on sensible driving it manages about 8km per unit I feel, atleast thats what the indicator shows as well. A more accurate measure will be units consumed per hour, this would cover idling in traffic and whatnot. Didn't go into any serious arithmetic, as i'm waiting for the bill to simply compare. At this rate I'm sure it wouldn't be cheaper than a normal car, given our electricity pricing schemes. The car is Front wheel drive, either the pic has smoke in the wrong place or there is a drift spec variant It does easily lose traction if you floor it for a second or two on a wet stretch of road, scared the hell of me, but the ESP kicked it into track and started warning me in japanese, probably obscene. I am considering a better tyre, all ready took off a few psi, as I don't want to end in a tree
