Hi members, I was just wondering if there were any X5s in town? I remember seeing atleast one X5 in the "Royal family" car collection. Is there any other X5s owned by general public? Not that I'm going to buy one or I can afford one, just curious to know. Cheers

Me saw some fb pictures of the event on a friend of mines profile and thought to share. Me thinks these pics were taken at the after party. Can't wait for my Christmas holz -
I would recommend Rav4 if you can afford it. Have driven a friends one, quite a solid vehicle. I doubt you would lose big money on a Jap vehicle in SL

Great nice to see a couple of guyz with the same attitude Have ridden many mates bikes back in the days in SL along with my dads bikes particularly a YOM 1986 Suzuki 125 but if I wanna mention the ones I owned. Owned in SL Hero Honda CBZ 150 Owned in Aus Yamaha Virago 250 Honda CBR RR Current Yamaha YZF R6 Never been much dirt biking or owned one but will love to do so minus the broken bones . Never seen tracks too and I'm a bit scared when it comes to tracks. Wouldn't mind owning a Ducati 1098 at some stage. Never been or ridden any European bikes so can't comment much on them.

Jeeezzzz!!! that is not fair in a lande like no other Seriously, what can some one do with a small RC chopper? (I mean planning an attack or some thing. Of course you can chop your fingers off with the blades!) Best way will be is to dismantle the aircraft and bring it in pieces and put it together once you get here. Bringing the radio inside the country will be the problem.

Look, if I was you I would close my eyes and buy a Mazda 3 . There are a couple advertised in AL too so just have a look around. I'm sure you will not be dissapointed. I personally think it's one of the value for money car at the moment. Good luck with your purchase

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html found this online cal to get the diameter of your tyre with the size. You might need to get Java runtime to use this.
-
True. But when I did thought about the diameter I was thinking of the rim + tyre as a whole and not just the rim size. The easiest will be is to measure the diameter of the wheel with a measuring tape and get the reading in meteres. To get a accurate reading could get 4/5 readings and get the mean reading (this is to prevent the human error due to the curveyness of the tyre). As you mentioned an online calculator would be the way to go. Best is to recalibarate the speedo or use a GPS with a travelling speed display turned on.
-
The formula I could think up will be using C = (pi)*d and V = s/t In this case C1 - area travelled in car in one rotation with wheel wirh diameter d1 C2 - area travelled in car in one rotation with wheel wirh diameter d2 therefore => C1 = (pi)*d1 C2 = (pi)*d2 C1/C2 = d1/d1 ------- (1) V1 - The velocity your car needs to pass S1 distance in t1 time using wheel wirh diameter d1 V2 - The velocity your car needs to pass S2 distance in t1 time using wheel wirh diameter d2 therefore => V1 = S1/t1 V2 = S2/t1 V1/V2 = S1/S2 ------- (2) S1 = x*C1 - here x is the rpm of the wheel with d1 S2 = y*C2 - here y is the rpm of the wheel with d2 therefore => S1/S2 = x*C1/y*C2 ---- (3) V1/V2 = x*d1/y*d2 V2 = (y*d2/x*d1)* V1 d1 & d2 are your wheel sizes and you could measure x & y. V1 will be the velocity your speedo shows with factory wheels d1 the new wheel size is d2. t1 will be a constant in both speeds. with these you should be able to calculate the new speed.

A tribute? Well, If you don't mind us asking, around what range was the price?

Dumping A Bmw 7-Series Off The Cost Of Sri Lanka.
Skyline R33 replied to racerx's topic in General Automotive
Well, I'm not a green activist or actually I don't care about the polution but the matter that a 7 series is leaving the country for good is what I hate. Yap, bullet proof is the main issue as mentioned by other I guess. By this time it probably has been through a crusher and is in bits and pieces in some part of Germany. -
Urgent Help Needed To Find A Mazda Bhalp(1996) Auto Gearbox
Skyline R33 replied to samiram's topic in MAZDA
Is it an Auto or Manual? From what you have told, I think it will be more of a clutch related issue as you might have burnt the clutch plate. If its a manual and when you are shifting gears, do you hear any noises? or feel like the gear is jumping. If so it might be a gear box issue. Btw, when was it last since you changed your transmition fluid? I mean how many kms ago? The same happened to me when the car would start and not move and I had to get a new clutch plate etc. My gear box was fine. Clutch plate should be relatively cheaper than a gear box but depends on the clutch plate you wanna get since there is a variety. -
Got a friend of mine who has a 04 Rav 4 and he has never had any issues. As Mr.Cat told I dont't think finding spares for a Toyota will be hard.

Dumping A Bmw 7-Series Off The Cost Of Sri Lanka.
Skyline R33 replied to racerx's topic in General Automotive
what a stupid thing to do!!! May be they can't sell it since they would have imported it tax free but they could charge tax at the point of transfer to new local owner. What a waste. -
Ya have heard it from some others too. Since then I used plain water for a while to flush the injectors but I sold my R33 so it's all good now. I ride now and use windex on my helmet visors once in a while. I don't think it will affect the visor as it is clear plastic and has no tint on it.
-
It depends on how much you wann spend on it I guess. I think the Mazda CX 7 is a nice vehicle but no idea about the cost and I don't think there will be many in SL so will be kinda exclusive.
-
Whoa, three cars a week! thats a bummer but should be a good work out too. Those peices sound really cheap compared to here. I was thinking of sending one but now I think, buying one locally should be the wat to go. Personally no experience except for Karcher. I think it's a very good brand and good quality product but if it dosen't have what you are looking for, what is the point. Let us know one you have got it as I'm interested in getting one.
-
The yellowish colour is mainly due to the reaction of plastic with the UV rays. I had the same issue with my R33 here and there is a product to clean lights. It's kinda like a polish but made for plastic. I used it and it was much better but the look will go after a couple of months or so and you need to clean the lights again. I'm not sure about crystal lights in SL but you should be able to get a whole set from Sigapore if you travell overseas, for a decent price also if you just put it with your normal luggage and they don't open it you can avoide the tax too.

I think he is talking about this vehicle http://autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=38110

what kinda alarm is it? Check the connections to the speaker as a loose connection is normally an issue. there are chances for your speaker of the alrm to malfunction/be faulty. If you can get another speaker from a friend you could try it or you could try it on a normal speaker with higher ohms and see. If you didn't change the settings there will not be any need to change the settings.

What about windex? Its a glass cleaning blue colour liquid used on regular windows etc. It's a bit strong so I used to mix it with a little bit of water and used it through my washer system. Worked as a cheap solution for me.
