  1. That is a sealant used to prevent water from getting into the cabin. And as Crosswind correctly said, that's how it comes off the factory. Different manufacturers do it in different ways. So you shouldn't really compare.
  2. Oh damn. That's just bad. Hope they'll be able to properly correct it. As for the windshield, you can get it polished which might remove the scratch if it's not too deep. Search the forum and you'll find a few places that do it.
  3. Pm sent. Check your inbox. Good luck!
  4. A friend of mine recently took a CCTV system with him on his visit to Sri Lanka. It was for his parents' place. He said that he didn't even have to claim. So should be fine if its just 1 unit.
  5. Depends on the car. In your case I think the wiper mechanism is bolted onto the body as a unit using a few screws, so unless the entire mechanism is poorly tightened, I don't see why the nut hasn't cleared the body as it should. I believe your wiper arm struck the windscreen because the arm itself was not properly tightened at the mounting bolt. The spring tends to pop the wiper arm towards the windscreen if the arm is not positioned and tightened properly. This is a very simple thing, and even you can inspect. Just lift the wiper (like when you do when you wash the car) and gently try to move it about to see if it's properly secured. If not, it must be tightened. Was your car stripped totally (wiper assembly removed) during the body repair?
  6. Roadstar Motor Works - Seeduwa if you can make the trip. Place is owned by former Mini race driver Mr. Ajith Hemachandra. He knows Minis in and out. Was my mechanic ever since I owned a car up until I came overseas. More here. Search the forum and you will find many other places. Let me know if interested and I will PM you his mobile number.
  7. Take it to a place that does. There are plenty of places around Delkanda, Wijerama, Darley Road that will do the repair for you. Honestly, you don't have to be a techie to take apart the mirror. Have patience. You cant break something that's already broken. Good luck!
  8. I guess OP is referring to the electric folding operation. I recently took apart the mirror of my father's Mazda Demio which also had the same symptoms. The folding mechanism is basically a tiny motor attached to a few plastic gears + a plastic clutch that slips so that the motor doesn't get stuck (and thereby overheat and burn) on load. This means that any additional friction the motor has to deal with will cause the clutch to slip and the mirror to not open/fold. Lubricating the mechanism (particularly the hinge) solved the issue. The mechanics of the mirror on the Aqua should be similar. So a simple cleanup and lubrication should solve the issue.
  9. First of all, it's not an oil LEVEL indicator, but an oil PRESSURE indicator and is standard in pretty much any vehicle with an internal combustion engine. In your case, the indicator doesn't light up due to three main possible causes: 1. Burnt indicator bulb 2. Defective oil pressure switch 3. Connection/electrical issue between oil pressure switch and indicator bulb or blown fuse It's most likely 1 or 2 IMO. Check fuses, bulb first.
  10. Finally! Those rims look wicked!
  11. Koyo is a reputed bearing manufacturer, and the quality is pretty much as same as any Japanese OEM bearing. So if you got yourself a genuine Koyo hub, you should be set for quite a while.
  12. Try Mahinda. Search for his number on the forum. If he says that he's got the part, make sure you take your L200 (or the radiator & fan) so that you can pick a compatible one from the ones he has. Even ones from PO5 Delica etc. might fit.
  13. Visual inspection. Check if the dust boot is missing/fallen off. Moisture on the lens depends on how much water entered the housing. As for filling the housing with water - don't do it as there might be metal components inside which might start to corrode if you fill with water. A bulb would burst if it's already switched on and the globe is extremely hot when water splashes on it. In OP's case, it might be while the car is running with lights on and when some water on the road splashes into the housing. Possible if the opening behind the reflector (where the bulb goes in) is not sealed properly. Very valid point!
  14. Any chance that your fog light housing is leaking water in? A drop of water on a very hot bulb can cause it to burst.
  15. Agree with iRage. Lives come before property ALWAYS. Sampath, you were perfectly right to think about the occupants of the car over some damaged/destroyed property. I believe the next step would have been to call 119. Efficiency and responsiveness of 119 remains questionable though.
  16. Already discussed. Search the forum.

If the motor freezes and only the starter solenoid clicks away while you hold the key in the "START" position, then it's probably a starting system fault (starter motor, battery, leads and relays) and not the fuel pump. - Check if your battery terminals are loose - Get the battery checked properly (CCA, Load test etc.) - Visually inspect the live and ground cables that run from the battery to the starter motor and make sure they're not damaged or loose. - Take it to a good electrician and get the starter relay checked After all the above points are covered and if the problem still persists, you probably need to get your starter motor serviced.

Wait the motor cranks, drags and stops? Meaning the motor stops despite you holding the key in the "START" position?

You mean just clicking and the starter motor not cranking the engine? If the motor spins, you're probably looking at a faulty/worn out fuel pump which takes a bit of time to build up pressure.
  21. ShamilFazeel, Can you please stick to one thread and ask all your questions about buying a car instead of cluttering the forum with multiple threads? First a Honda, then an Indian, now a Euro. We understand your enthusiasm, but please search the forum (here's how) and continue an existing thread. Thanks!
  22. Oh, look who's back on the forum after a long time!
  23. Oh I just noticed that trinity's wheels have 8 lugs each and MrCat's has 4.
  24. Whoever told you that the CS comes with a "cable" system is wrong. It has a regular locking system that uses metal rods and hinges. The power window system however is operated by a cable system. You have two options: 1. Go for an aftermarket central locking system Cheaper. You'll have to purchase 4 actuators and have them wired up manually. I believe places like Sun Lanka does this. 2. Get 4 used doors off a GLX Much much expensive. As a plus, you will get power windows as well. You can sell your current doors after the conversion. If you're going for the second option, trinity is the man you need to contact. He got it done on his CS1.
