Nice! Did I see a 70s Celica at 0:20? These two games are what I'm going crazy over these days: 1. Dirt Rally: This is undoubtedly the most realistic rally simulation I've played since Richard Burns Rally. The physics, damage and pretty much everything is so realistic. 2. Project CARS: Real cars, real tracks, mindblowing graphics, realistic simulation. What more could you ask for? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qan-mjxTQw8

Happy birthday machan! I guess this means the Capri will be done soon.

Thanks machan! Maybe when I come for the holidays. White would suit nicely for yours.

If you can get hold of the chassis number of the car (from the car itself and not the book), then you can confirm the exact YOM. For Mitsubishis, generally the 9th or 10th digit of the chassis number indicates the YOM. Also, I don't think you can rule out the possibility of RMV making a mistake. I haven't had problems with getting information from UniMo. If they still refuse to give you information, walk into a branch and explain yourself to a guy over there and try your luck. Not sure if the Lancer EX offered in SL came with seatbelt pretensioners, but if it did, the manufacturer would replace them in two scenarios: 1. A defect with the seatbelt or pretensioner 2. An accident causing the pretensioner mechanism to engage (if this happens, it is likely that the airbags would have also been deployed) Seatbelts without pretensioners do not require replacement for a car of this age (unless of course the belts were damaged).

Oops! Yes I did. I imagined the reverse camera not working as being related to the repair, so assumed that it was the rear bumper.
-
Thought the same, but I'm pretty sure they were referring to the throttle body.

1. Depends on the insurance company. If your company deals directly with the garage, then the garage people should replace the retainer and include the cost in the invoice. The insurance company will might settle that too. You should talk to both parties and figure out the best solution. 2. If the car was repaired with the battery disconnected, the ECU would have been reset. Further, if excessive dust was collected on your engine within the three weeks, it might have been pulled into the air intake which caused starting problem. They should have tried to clean the air filter before attempting to clean the throttle body. Now that's fixed anyway, no point in arguing about it. 3. Yes, they would have disconnected the battery, which is fine. As for the reverse camera, since they repaired the bumper, they might have forgotten to reconnect it.

I've learnt my lessons with cleaning throttle bodies and the first thing I can tell you is to remove all sensors from the throttle body before cleaning it. And never spray TB cleaner directly on sensors (TPS and IAC valve). If the sensors are dirty, spray some TB cleaner to a clean piece of cloth and wipe the sensor clean. Also, if the throttle body has an idle bypass, make sure you don't spray TB cleaner into the cavities that lead into the bypass chamber. As others have said, don't use kerosene as it degrades rubber. I maybe wrong but I don't remember seeing "ORIGINAL" on the registration documents. If you're not sure if the registration documents are legitimate, you can get it checked from RMV. Check the below link: http://eservices.motortraffic.gov.lk/VehicleInfo/home

I have heard that Deens at Havelock is excellent (and expensive). A few other good places were also discussed on the forum: http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/15197-floor-carpeting-of-car/ http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/13396-viva-elite-seat-covers/ http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/11680-good-place-to-fix-carpets-and-seat-covers-for-my-car/ http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/13982-car-seat-cushion/

Yeah, I guess that can be done. Not sure about the place in Makola. Let us know if you find out. Since you're looking for the whole assembly, you can try the "watte" area in Panchikawatte. Old Lancer parts are available at the "watte" area near BMC (Building Materials Corporation). You will find the housing without the lens there. A new lens can be bought from a shop in Panchikawatte. Just ask the people from whom you buy the housing and they will lead you to a shop. Body parts are becoming harder to find for old Japs now.

Do you really have to open a new topic for each change done to your car?

Take a walk in Panchikawatte. You'll find them for sure. Are you looking for the lens or the entire assembly? Locally made lenses are available and they're OK because you haven't got any choice. They just fade a bit quickly (the reverse light turns yellowish), but they serve the purpose. Looks exactly like the original. You can try eBay as well.

Forgive my ignorance, isn't AMT as same as Semi Automatic? If so, there are several European and even Japanese manufacturers who have perfected it to a level where regular maintenance isn't required and where shift shock is not felt by occupants. I drove a Lancer RalliArt with dual clutch SST a few weeks back and the thing was shifting very good. It's been on the market since 2008 or so and no major gearbox issues are noted as far as I have found out. Not sure if AMT and Dual Clutch can even be compared though. Wonder what Suzuki India is doing so wrong for it to be this bad. If it's a software issue as The Don has said, then their initial expectations from the gearbox were far too low from what customers are expecting.

Horn Not Work After Some Time Of Engine Start
Davy replied to invisibleuser's question in Mechanical problems
If they're regular horns, it might be the adjustment screw expanding and locking up the contacts when hot. Try adjusting it. On the reverse side of both horns, you will see a small screw. When the horns start acting up, loosen this screw just a little bit (45° turn). Repeatedly do this until your horn starts working. Before doing this, make a marking to remember the original position of the screw - just so that you can restore the original adjustment in case this doesn't work.. -
Was puzzled myself, until I saw this.

Thanks for understanding. The disclaimers are correct. A torrent file is basically a small file pointing to a list of servers that have bits and pieces of the file you want to download. So there's no illegal content within the torrent file itself. But that does not justify downloading copyrighted content using a torrent. This is why sites like The Pirate Bay, Kickass and several other torrent sites faced legal issues in the past (Pirate Bay was offline for a long time). Most of them are operating currently from countries that do not have firm laws against sharing torrents.

If they're "twist" type SMDs with a holder, you can simply unplug them from their socket and replace with a new one. To ensure that the bulb is really not working, you can plug in a working SMD (from another slot) and check if that works. If the SMDs are soldered onto the board, you need to rule out the possibility of a faulty connection (damaged path maybe). You can do this by switching on the gauge cluster lights and checking the voltage between the SMDs that are not illuminating. If there is no voltage, it's probably a damaged path, a closer inspection will show you where it needs to be repaired. If not, then it's the SMD that is not working. Remove the faulty SMDs and solder on new ones. SMDs of your choice can be bought on eBay. If you're keen, you can do this yourself. If not, let a professional electrician handle it.

Downloading copyrighted material is illegal. So is sharing a link to copyrighted material. Therefore, AutoLanka can be legally charged (by the copyrights holder) for having links to such material. As a community, we should ensure that the site admin/owner will not get into trouble because of what members share here. This was discussed before on this thread (page 12).

Please stop sharing torrent links on the forum.

Thanks machan! I will probably get the conversion kit from eBay.

A bit old, but I watched American Sniper a few days back. It was good, considering that it's based on a true story. Good to see Bradley Cooper in a serious action movie after repeatedly seeing him in chick flicks and comedies.

For a moment I thought this was about a blow off valve for a EX that has undergone a turbo conversion.

Saw this on Facebook today. Funny and sad (about the B11) at the same time.
