  1. Nice! Same model of wheels as trinity's, except for the colour.
  2. Yes it does. In this case "cold" refers to freezing temperatures. If I'm not mistaken, the number before W is the viscosity when the temperature is 0 Fahrenheit (-17 Celsius). Obviously we don't get anywhere near to that kind of low temperature in Sri Lanka. So the W specification has no effect. As for the smoothness you felt; probably placebo.
  3. PS4 hands down. Grand Turismo 7 will be released late this year or early next year as I remember. As for gaming wheels, I think the Logitech G29 is a good option for PS4. Been using a G27 on PC for a couple of years and loving it!
  4. Far out!!! Superb job machan! Looks like you've got a mini laboratory at home now. Any idea if this would work simply by swapping the ROM chip to the new cluster without resetting the mileage and VIN? Since the values match up with the values on other modules on the car (which I'm guessing is external to the cluster), could there be any issues? Just curious.
  5. lol. Waaay more than once!
  6. The Tesla Model 3 was unveiled yesterday: https://vimeo.com/161138986 More...
  7. This is exactly the kind of retarded driving I observed during the three weeks I was in the country. People just don't seem to give a damn about road markings, signs, traffic lights and worst of all - lives of other people. After a couple of days of driving, I extracted scenes of so many traffic offenses from the dash cam. There were just so many of them, I gave up copying them to the PC at one point.
  8. +1 for checking coil packs. Failing ignition coils usually start giving erratic ignition when the engine warms up. As part of the fuel system clean-up, I assume the Idle Air Control valve and MAF sensor were cleaned as well.
  9. Whoaaa! Very nice! That's a clean AE86. Pretty sure I've seen it on Facebook somewhere.
  10. *** Goes into hiding in a cave *** I think it's best that I don't comment on local garages and spare part suppliers. I clearly have lost touch.
  11. Mahinda has genuine but reconditioned parts. For engine mounts, recon doesn't make sense. But he might be able to point you to someone who does brand new genuine parts. OP, use the following method to search the forum: http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/15808-how-to-search-on-autolanka/
  12. I see. Things seem to have changed a bit over the last couple of years then. When I changed mounts on my CS3, genuines were only available at the agents. Also didn't know about UniMo being a subsidiary of Unit#d Mot#rs. Thanks for the clarification.
  13. Please search the forum. For engine mounts, I don't think you will be able to find genuine parts outside UniMo.

    Nissan Presea

The method to paste stickers like this is to first create a soap water solution (mix some car wash/shampoo with water) and spray it on the body where the sticker is to be pasted. Next, peel off the sticker and paste it on the body (yes, on top of the soap water). The soapy water on the body will allow you to slide the sticker on the body and position it exactly as you want it to. After the sticker is in place, you can remove air bubbles if necessary using an old credit card. Once the soap water dries up, the adhesive behind the sticker will stick to the body. The soap water prevents the sticker from sticking to your fingers as well.

Buy a tube of gasket maker (you can get one to match the colour of the border - I assume it's black). Apply a very thin layer and wipe the excess sealer off and let it dry. That should seal off the light.

Thumbs up! Looking mint. One thing I love about the Presea is those gorgeous frameless doors.
  17. I have driven a manual 1.6L EX GLS and I would like to quote something that trinity said some time back to describe the comparison: As for OP's concern, you have answered your own question in the original post by describing the major differences between the two cars.
  18. Driving on Sri Lankan roads after two years. Feels like the number of retards has grown exponentially.

I can imagine. I was away for a few months and when i got back last year i felt like it had gotten a lot crazier. It took me 3 months to get used to it. The collective moronity in our roads is overwhelming

Are you like gone there forever?

@matroska: Yeah. I honestly didn't think just two years of driving abroad could cause me to have to get used to driving here. I guess I got too comfortable with driving in Australia. :)

@Magnum: Nope, I will be coming back.

  19. Good job! Such a simple thing; can't believe the mechanics actually made a mess out of it.

    Rav 4

You can always continue the discussion on a thread that is already there. No recent threads? Someone like you opened a thread just last month! And members have actually given comprehensive answers. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/17538-recommendation-on-toyota-rav4-4wd/ I think you agree that it's much easier to find information when they are consolidated into a few threads, rather than being scattered over hundreds of threads across the forum. Makes it much easier for new members to find information.
  21. The worn out release bearing might damage the torsion springs on the pressure plate over time. So your question should be answered with a question: Are you prepared to use the car for a while with the issue and replace the pressure plate as well?

    Rav 4

Please don't open multiple threads for each new model that comes to your mind. Most of what you have asked are already discussed on the forum. Search the forum! http://lmgtfy.com/?q=site%3Aforum.autolanka.com+RAV4 http://lmgtfy.com/?q=site%3Aforum.autolanka.com+RAV+4
  23. Yes, the gearbox will need to be taken out of the car. Since this is a front wheel driven car, it's a bit more complicated than taking out the gearbox of a rear wheel driven car. Plus, you might have to get a wheel alignment done after the repair, depending on which suspension components need to be taken out to access the gearbox. As for labour charges, I guess it depends on the place you take it to. I've been away from the country for a couple of years now, so I don't think I'm the best person to give you an indication of labour charges. Hope someone else can answer your question.
  24. That's pretty cheap for a brand new part. The one for the CS3 was well over 10,000 at UniMo if I remember correctly. Well there you go OP... now you know the price and where to get it from.
