Dont think its a good idea to replace only one pad as it will be uneven and different brand of pads will have different composition. Are both pads on the left side are worn out or only one pad ? Best is you get the calipers checked out from a good place before you replace the pads.

If I am not mistaken the RMV has 2 sizes, the square one and the rectangle one, and you can select either, depending on your vehicle. ( eg : New Evo has it on the side, and I I think its the square one ). You need to avoid blocking the air flow in to the front vents

Since u are only doing 500km per month its not a big millage, which means even after 2 or 3 years you would not add up much millage on the car. BUt if you have a old car this will off set that benifit, when it comes to re sale value. So u are better off with a new model. Also manual will be better on fuel + less repairs and maintenance cost. So if I were you I would go for option 7 (7. Toyota 121 , 1.3 Manual 2005/6 )

This is nothing big to worry about as in most vehicles the rpm will go up when you start and will settle down after a while. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Also parking the vehicle outside will have little or nothing to do with this. If the smoke it coming mainly in the mornings ( especially these days when its quite cold ) that's normal. If not have it checked out.

Its unfortunate to hear your story, but its good of you to have written about this. Most cars we see at car sales are done up, and the interiors cleaned up and most likely the millage has been altered. And you still end up paying a premium for this. The premium is mainly the interest cost for holding the car in a showroom sometimes for a few months. There are so many guys trying to do this business as they don't need to invest on their own. But there are few guys who will handle it well for you. There is a guy on the kotte road, quite professional and has been in the business for years , so he knows his stuff inside out. Think he works on a fixed admin cost.

Where can I start..... well its basically the turbo is a separate unit, which is kind of like a turbine which users the exhaust air to pressurize or charge the air going in to the engine. A intercooler is used to cool down this air. ( This is explained above in psot #2 ) The hood scoop you see in most vehicles is for fresh ( cool) air to come in to the intercooler. No air goes in b to the engine but only passes through the intercooler, which looks pretty much like any radiator. (This is also called a heat sink or heat exchanger ). If the vehicle has a intercooler in front of the engine, instead of on top of it there is no need for a hood scoop. This is why the Nissan Navara does not have one. Also the X-Trail takes the air from the front under the bonnet. I think the new legacy has a FMIC, but still has a hood scoop just to cool the engine. Subarus tend to over emphasize the hood scoop. Like Pericles has mentioned you can read up more.

Just look around and see how many land crusiers, range rovers out there well in the Rs 25 Mn range, so why not a one of a kind GTR ? In that case a lot of people should be nuts according to your definition.
