  8. Regarding leather interior, sometimes it happens. Even dashboard is wrapped with leather. All depend on how it maintaned. Yes, S40 is an awesome ride. Full of driving plesure.
  9. I think pre-facelift means the earlier models got rear volvo badge mounted behind the left tail lamp and later models it shifted to upper middle of the boot. I am sorry I am experienced with diesel one only. (petrol one, I only had a chance to drive a short distance). I had a contact number of a person (technician) well knows about them and if I could find it I will PM you.
  10. Manufacturing year? Diesel or Petrol? Please do a search as well. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/13095-volvo-s40/
  11. Today engine tuneup done (40k) at Unit#d Mot#rs-Orugodawatta. If something doubtful only, they check by scanner. (They used scanner to double check RPM since soon after engine tune up RPM was little higher & however later reached to normal values ) Unit#d Mot#rs use Dihatsu scanner for Perodua Viva Elite as Perodua Viva Elite is a re-badged version of Daihatsu Charade/Mira L251. In the menu need to select the model as L251 & engine type as EJ-VE. Hence scanners possible with Daihatsu (L251) can be used for Perodua Viva Elite. PS. Special thank to Davy for being my remote adviser throughout the day.
  12. Some details. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Mitsubishi_Fuso_engines 4DRx 4DR1 2,384 cc, peak power is 75 PS (55 kW) at 3,800 rpm. 14. Having a quick inspection at vehicle collection point is much worthy. I collected our Viva Elite twins in same day. In the morning I collected Green colour one. Had a quick inspection and everything was perfect in order. After lunch I collected Blue colour one and I did not check much as I was in hurry. When I just came out from the Unit#d Mot#rs, I observed that cigarette lighter was missing. So I went back and complained. However they provided me a cigarette lighter after 2-3days, but I wasted an hour on complaining the matter. Better to have a quick inspection always.
  15. As far as I remember procedure is as follows. (I did it 3 years ago and if something wrong please correct me.) (1) Go to your bank where you open the Letter of Credit (L/C) Complete your payment work if any, and collect your original shipping document set [usually it comes with Commercial Invoice ,Bill of Lading (B/L), Marine Insurance Certificate, Certificate of Origin.....etc.] If your payment work is completed, Bank will stamped your Invoices and other documents and will issue original set of shipping documents to you. (2) Visit Department of Inland Revenue and apply and get your TIN Certificate. (3) Then handover the documents to Unit#d Mot#rs and, as far as I remember you have to submit one document directly to the Sri Lanka customs. (I have forgotten the thing and might something like Registration at Customs) So check with Unit#d Mot#rs people and follow the process. If you start it in the morning , you can finish all work within same day. Unit#d Mot#rs will clear the vehicle and bring it to their office and will do registration procedure as well. Unit#d Mot#rs will give you a document and based on that get a temporary insurance cover for the vehicle. (Since you don't have CR issued yet and later you can convert this temporary insurance cover in to Insurance Certificate) Keep ready your photos required for vehicle registration. Then you have to collect the vehicle. At the collection point , take your time and check all items/equipments(Example: Cigarette lighter) , make sure all equipments are there. If something missing, please inform them at same time. (Once I faced a similar situation). Also check the vehicle body for any damages, scratch, dents. Collect your vehicle and Drive plenty miles with smiles. Please don't forget to post a photo here.
  16. Strange tinkering...dimples,dimples,dimples...Oh Ladies !!!..
  17. Never buy used tyres. Once I met a guy selling 5 used tyres for viva elite (few km away from my residence). I asked why and he replied that he fixed new alloy wheels with new tyres. (That guy didn't know even viva elite sparewheel is in different tyre size.If the story is true it should be 4 tyres in same size ) I carefully checked all 5 tyres. They were manufacrtured in different months/years. Worn percentage is very much different one to another. Inside of some of them were marked as Unit#d Mot#rs. -----> They must be faulty tyres replaced by Unit#d Mot#rs under warrenty replacements. Some of them had hard rubbing marks. -----> Most probably these tyres from vehicles met with accidents. I believe someone has purhcased those tyres from action at Unit#d Mot#rs and reselling back. So don't belive used tyres and never buy used tyres.
  18. Even this would have possible with AL guys. Wish you both a happy wedded life again.

  20. Happy Wedded Life, Machan !!! !
  21. I remember in wiki I read a portion that these JDM cars have been built with intention of short period use and NOT intended to use for years(long term)? Is that true? Machan, don't tell me that White "Premios" and " Allions" are behind you. If it is true, simply you can't see such number of vehicle sales places along roadsides in Sri Lanka.
  22. Happy belated B'Day Machan !!!
