  1. So carmart fked me up big time. Paint already bubbling and many other issues. Honestly is there anyone/business in this country that is honest and worth it?

I made up my mind to work on the car alone for most repairs. F that, still better than carmart. Plus pug parts are cheap in malaysia, which I’m gonna take advantage of.

Paint will also be done at the place I did my wheels. 5000 bucks and a gal arakku bothal motivated the painter to the point, he said he pay the money to get if done at a big box store if he screwed up. Will be done once I’m back in Lanka.

Hence why I use a sorta bush mechanic and a small time painter,

they do only one job at a time, I pick the raw materials they use and the finish it fast.

Supporting small businesses + Value for money 100%

Just need a sunny day as they don't have booths

@tiv actually most of these small timers seem to be installing booths now. Not sure if it’s up-to standard and such, still better than nothing.

  2. 30 seconds on the quick site shows me 2015 ish cars for 11 mil. wow that site is overpriced. Vehicle-Sevana website shows 8.5 up for 2013. Hmm thats not bad considering these were 6 mil up before the sir came into power. Also not many good examples for sale. Try to avoid a “modified” and insta/tiktok star child’s car. They are driven badly. 2013ish means pre facelift dash with the screen being a-part of the dash itself. Seems like you already picked a car. Reduce the prices for the pending repairs and any upcoming soon. Tires are expensive af. So be vary. Once you buy do a full service with all fluid and filter changes. Even if the owner claims it’s been done. Unless he can prove its been done within 3 months. Finally get a nice detail done and small touches like tint/ carpets. It will give you a new car feeling. Trust me, a good detail with a new wax/cheap nano coating.ceramic coating on a 10 year paint car is a waste of money. But the car will look and feel awesome. Best thing in Lanka now to a new car tbh. Have some fun post pictures. Also please no cringe tiktoks or I’m gonna have to run you over.lol jk
  3. Have used all these cars. Mazda 6 all the way. Try to get a 2015 Yom and up. Never take it to carmart for any reason. Get a car checks done. Make sure it’s rust free. Fuel economy is ok really. 9ish if u drive sane. much better than that tiny merc with the cheap willy bin interior. Bargain hard because most people don't buy these bigger engined cars. Too scared and stupid to realize it’s the same kmpl as a premio with a 1500. Try to get a 2.5L engine with the bells and whistles. find a good mechanic to take the car and drive safe. Please avoid the urge to post cringey tiktoks like the premio/axio buggers. (Mumbling “eth mama pana pitin sandamali” )
  4. Guy definitely spent hours in fuel queues looking up ads for foreign employment in the middle east!
  5. That black modded example is ugly af. Quite a few on the quick site for around 280 and under. this is a kurunegala car. Possibly used taiwan parts. Im a big green fan. So this hit me. This was also 280ish. Interior and exterior fully facelifted. Had all except sunroof. Few ZX’s was also spotted in that price range. Go for 2010 up. 390 was for a recon unreg ZX petrol in 2019. Also bro are you sure you don’t wanna wait? The bank interest seems much more enticing than a used LC tbh. Think about it. End of day your money your choice.
  6. Samajen kon wela noh u both? Even the tiktok boys run away when they see them old relics 🤪
  7. Looks clean. There is a another red example sitting for a very long time. That one does not have the interior facelift. Make sure the airbags and stuff work. 375? Bro just run. Please. Wtf it’s a petrol too. Waaay too much man. Plus only the “beji” internet is market. Something like this is worth 270 nowadays.
  8. After a long break. Well the gals going for a paint tomorrow. Not a full paint job, but mostly a nice touch up and a good polish. Interior detail and tint will follow. Had some work done on the car also. Not driving it much is not helpful and Pugs don’t let you have a break if you fail to attend. To sum this car up- Expensive, Annoying at times, but the riding makes up for it. Gigity. Best picture my cousin managed to get despite having a phone that costs almost a jap bike. jobs being done at carmart. Not big fans of them, but they know these cars the best. hope to update the blogs and finish up the chapters once work is done. Which may be a month at most. Pray she gets a good job guys. Lankan paint buggers are scary.
  9. No no bro. It has to be a iphone 14 pro max in purple. And you must buy it at apple asia,so they post a pic of you on fb. Iphone 13 means your poor and that you never heard of binance.lol
  10. I understand bro. I’ve also being eyeing a Range Rover LWB, but with the new model not being imported, used prices going craaazy and people like funsamali and sir riding in them. I might also just settle with a LC200 soon. It’s not bad at all. Just kinda overhyped by the everyday joe. It will hold the value. Every nice car I’ve let go without buying tripled in value over the years( Nissan 300z jumped from 2.5 to 7.5 even before the ban) I recommend the diesel. My father had one in 2008ish when it came out. The petrol was thirsty af. Diesel is better, also since you will sell it in 8 years, the diesel markup is justified. Diesels hold their value and is very sought after. Bargain hard. Not too many moving. Sale buyyas keep cars rotating among them. The bruno cross is nice, but lankan everyday fellas want the “beji interior “ and what not. Just get one with the coolbox, sunroof, leather etc. Trust me you do not need all the toys. Plus in Lanka the top of the line has a very high mark up.Height control is not that useful for city rides. It’s pretty cushy on standard shocks. The repairs on the air suspension will kill you. You can see my previous posts on this forum. I used to prefer top of the line everything and spent crazy money on maintenance ( @AVANTE will vouch for me), but now with the prices and the lack of spares, the economy & etc. just buy a well spec for a good price. Buy a diesel, I’ll say it again. Get it checked from the Agents and Carchexs. So many being abused. I would prefer a non tiktok’ed example. One that did not have a gen Z kid with motivation haali on social media. They tend to abuse them. Good luck with the buy bro.
  11. The 10th gen honda is like an insta “influencer+ model” Many fanboys.mostly teenage virgins from the gama. Changes hands every so often. Well driven and abused good. @matroska and I had the same conversation in another thread. Civic is the new “goda gihin pennawa” car. anyway why would you even bid on an accident car? I would have run tf away. plus how many cars you buying bro? lol What job you doing to buy LC200 and civic FK in lanka bro? I’ll come in the next flight available 😜
  12. Bro why you wanna drive to work in a LC everday? Get a nice sporty hatch or if SUV is a must, why not a smaller euro option? TBH LC 200 will go up in value all over the world. With the V8 being discontinued.
  13. An Audi?
  14. Thada kora. Maxxa athal bro. Drop-shipping kara nan masen bassanne. “Are u also in ontapener club sl buki page” In all seriousness though, I’m seeing a lot of mentally challenged young buggers recently. Sad how that turned out.
  15. wow thats expensive. But congrats on finding it!
  16. Sadly some owners/fans of the 10th gen civic gen tries to be like the EG/EK boys from the past. Cringy af. “Api yakku bolaw. Benz nan monawada ape civic 200 yanawa” “type r body kit gahapu civic thama heene” “audi mnwda bro civic ekka” They race them, crash it hard. Fixer upper and sell at crazy prices by overhyping. Thats why I always avoid mainstream models.
  17. Appo owa thel bausar. Sapety wadak na malli apita. Api sinhala yakku api marenne pirimi wage. Apita one secand markat ekah. Oka deela bassamu piyus ekak. ( Based on way too many true incident's. ) My favorite was - grace ekak tharan wath penumak nane malli oyage wandiya. Aparade owata ohma salli puchanne. Kaali balanne hybeed diha dan malli 🙏🏼
  18. Try Dar@z. They stock parts for Peugeot. So you might get lucky. Or try posting on the FB pages. A walk around used car part shops will also get you one. 3D printing is also a thing, but expensive.
  19. RUN. I smell a buyya trying to rid of a car. No Audi we ever had had check engine light because of a service due.AC working late also sounds fishy. Plus these cars had oil burning issues. They are not bad cars, but for the money try another model. You can try to bargain a BMW 520D for bit more money. Much better car, but will also have some issues that need be fixed. Like irage said, take any car to the agent or car ch**ks before you buy.
  20. Yup. The US market is F-up. Its very bad. Finance rates are also up. Plus manufacturers say they do not want to have stock like pre- pandemic. Bastards. Even a $1000 clapped out beater 01’ civic is now $4000. Can agree. Most cars seems to circulating among “stealers” and they hold onto the prices firmly. As with everything in the country. A few big players are running the scene “sale mafia” I really want a second car in SL, but the prices scare me. The condition is scarier. Who thought a C200 would have this high a “market” On the plus side Peugeot’s and Alfa Romeo’s are still not worth jack. WagonR is twice it’s price. My poor pug is almost the same as back then. Good thing I won't be selling it. @AVANTE guess our pugs take the cup from the Serena as “Sadaakal Oba Mage”
  21. I occasionally browse social media of AL members (that I can find of course) Mostly the member active from 2006 ish to around 2014.

I am proud to say almost all of them are much wealthier now than when they joined many years ago.

Most of them drive some real cool machines. Some are even on the “car spotters” pages (which seems to be the achievement target for young guys)

I’m very sure the passion and excitement plus the wealth of knowledge gained from Autolanka helped them to have the awesome taste in cars they do. In a sea of new money people and their flashy show off cars. The Autolanka crowd still stands taller.

Not many young people know about AL, even the old members seem to have forgotten/passed that era. But the cars they drive and the class they show is unmatched in the car scene.

Thank you @MADZ for starting AL and even more so for maintaining it all these years. I saw that you are in Sri Lanka no more, understandably. But I’m glad you still make the effort to keep it going.

The country keeps going backwards. But at least the Autolanka members are doing well and keeping that AL spirit.

    Cheers.

True, I joined in 2017 while looking for buy my first car and still come here at least once every week. Just to see if any interesting topic has started or if there's anything I can drop my little knowledge to help someone. I think this forum would have reached sky if there was no vehicle import ban as well. There could have been so many interesting threads to read. Anyways, let's hope we will be able to see new cars in SL and also to see related topics being discussed here in AL.

  22. I guess I’ll have to go see it in person. I’m guessing it’s like the Mercedes with factory tint? I had a feeling the fuel thing was BS. But they advertise heavily on the extra 2kmpl, even few OG forum members claimed it on Facebook. lol
  23. Has a Chinese look. Hmmm
  24. Correct as always!
  25. Any guesses guys? Lets keep the thread going!
