it is not illegal. you can use one. first time i used it was on a trip to matara and to test if it worked, i got a cop to use use his speed gun. it worked

this is great news.. i remember seeing the hybrid version of the harrier/rx300 on the road. wonder if those will slip through duty free -
there is a chance that you will run into problems. reason being that a duplicate CR cannot be transfered in 1 day. also i hear some leasing companies will not lease vehicles on duplicate cr's (or the process will take longer than usual to verify the car is not stolen or on fake papers) because of the above issues, these cars are not easily sold. if you find a cash buyer, then you are ok.

i saw that ad for 2.2 as well and thought it was too good to be true. i would have guessed the market price of this car would be well over 3.5

and they have done away with VIC's with new registrations or transfers (pink book)

there is no solution to this. main issue is that cars wiht this book cannot be transferred in 1 day. it takes the usual process of a month. (if you want 1 day service, it will cost you about 10k under the table) apart from that people say that leasing companies will not lease these cars. again thats not true, they will lease the car after checking on the book.

i have my doubts if you can find a harrier for 8 anymore.. the prices all seem to be going up. 2 people i know recently purchased harriers and they paid 8.5 and up.
