  1. Breaking news from Japan tonight: Nissan has taken a 40% percent controlling stake in Mitsubishi Motors in a deal worth $2.2 billion http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-05-12/nissan-buying-34-stake-hands-lifeline-to-scandal-hit-mitsubishi It is now the single largest shareholder in the beleaguered automaker, even larger than than parent company Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which owns 20 percent. Nissan CEO vowed to help restore trust in Mitsubishi Motors to its former glory.
  2. Happy birthday Trinity!
  3. Le chick magnet
  4. Someone had theorized that the owner couldn't find super diesel nearby and didn't want to run on normal diesel. Maybe he was en route to the next station hoping the remaining fuel would last despite what cars' fuel gauge said
  5. You want an auto? Welll that limits your options... there are many manual CS1s around for your budget. Try 2001-2002 Mazda BJ3/BJ5
  6. Mitsubishi Lancer CS1 2003/2004
  7. Hey wait a burger flippin' second... I never said OP to not to go for a Presea! OP: Yours truely: See, I merely agreed with OP and suggested him to get his cousin to go for a CK2 Just laid out my opinion that going for a CK2 would be the best course of action for OP's cousin, the better choice among the two - you don't have to go for the better option every time - after all, the heart wants what it wants!
  8. I still think the better choice is CK2, if you can find one in decent condition
  9. You're correct and he's wrong. Persuade him to let go of his Presea dream and opt for a CK2.
  10. I saw a vid where the thief sat on the side mirror and reverse-cowthief it so hard it fell off the car... I kid you not. It was on "Sri Lankan Traffic Violations" FB page.
  11. Speaking of cars catching fire on the road... I wonder what happened here

  13. Dear god please don't let this happen http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian-car-scene/175406-mitsubishi-prime-takeover-target-tata-mahindra.html
  14. Ok guys so I got an opportunity to rent out a Single cab or an Double cab to a known firm - (the problem is I don't have one. read on ) The pay is 45k-50k (per month). The contract will be valid for 5 years. It will be used by one of my relatives working there. So I'm thinking I should buy one and rent it out. My budget is limited though - about 15 lakhs. Should I go for a B/N Indian one (Mahindra/TATA) or will I be able to find an unmolested Japanese one in this price range? Need to decide ASAP - Mahindra sales rep adviced me to buy one before the VAT increase take place. Your advice is highly appreciated!
  15. FYI I have clearly mentioned this research was done in 2013. Was wandering if any responsible entity took action against those fuel stations and/or preventive measures were taken to prevent this from happening in future
  16. Do you know that you guys in Sri Lanka are putting Kerosene oil into your Cars? http://jnsfsl.sljol.info/…/abstr…/10.4038/jnsfsr.v41i4.6247/ Recently, I was asked by an academic colleague in Sri Lanka why the pollution level in Colombo has been rising faster than the rate at which the number of vehicles has been increasing. My investigations led to a very interesting finding. According to a recent research paper published by Professor Mahanama, Head of Chemistry at the University of Colombo, fuel adulteration in Sri Lanka is rampant. They analysed petrol samples obtained from ten petrol stations in Colombo and found that there was kerosene in eight of the samples. The average adulteration was 23% - with one petrol station showing 48% of kerosene in their petrol ! I hope that’s not the one that you are filling your car from ! You are not only getting fewer kilometres per litre, over the long term it can also do serious damage to your engine. It also produces significantly more black carbon pollution into the air. Fingerprinting diesel and petrol fuels for adulteration in Sri Lanka D.R. Kulathunga and K.R.R. Mahanama. J. Natn. Sci. Foundation, Sri Lanka. 41(4), 287-292, 2013. [Source : Consumer Rights Movement of Sri Lanka] (Research paper was published in 2013) So, I was wandering if the government took any action against these fuel stations. Was there any further investigations?
